French humour, goats cheese and Florian Thauvin’s transfer fee
The Florian Thauvin and Remy Cabella double transfer has created plenty of interest in France.
Two young high profile players who have aspirations to be involved for their country at next year’s Euros.
However, for both players it is still a longshot at the minute for them to make the France squad for those 2016 finals.
Therefore the reported 17m+ euros transfer fee that Newcastle have stretched to, has raised an awful lot of French eyebrows, considering he has never even sat on the bench for the senior national team.
This has prompted one of France’s top satirical cartoonists @Tsoulcie to produce the image below, his take on the Florian Thauvin transfer fee and madness of the transfer market in general.
The English translation is underneath:
“Can you really sell goats cheese for €50 to tourists?”
“Why not? The English are ready to pay €17m for Thauvin”
