Florian Thauvin only made his first start for Newcastke United on Tuesday night and already he is picking up accolades from further afield.
The French winger had impressed in a late substitute appearance at Old Trafford and against Northampton Town he provided the cutting edge.
After scoring the first goal with an impressive volley, Thauvin went on to create all three of the other goals.
Subsequently, the Newcastle winger has been named in the Capital One Cup team of the round.
Appearing alongside Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe, who scored a hat-trick, in this team of the second round, Thauvin will hopefully go on to bigger and better things with Newcastle.
Still though, he can look back on where it all started…
This is the write up the Capital One Cup official website gave Florian Thauvin, followed by the full team and manager of the round.
