Betting on Top Newcastle Goalscorer makes interesting reading
The betting on who will be top Newcastle goalscorer in the Premier League is a real conundrum.
A year ago, I recall it actually was Emmanuel Riviere favourite, with Papiss Cisse still on the sidelines through injury at the time.
Facundo Ferreyra was also high up in the betting, along with Siem de Jong, whilst Ayoze Perez was seen as a big outsider who was going to be lucky to get many games…
A lot can happen in 12 months and at least when you look at the betting below, it must be at least one source of encouragement that we have a number of options.
Personally I don’t think Ayoze Perez will get lots of chances unless we have a number of injuries, plus I see him more as an attacking midfielder or second attacker who will never be your primary goalscorer.
Elsewhere, it is obvious why Mitrovic at 9/4 is at the top of the betting being the big money new signing up front, whilst Papiss Cisse has shown once again last season you can never write him off, top scorer despite only starting 11 matches!
Personally, I think Wijnaldum at 5/1 is a very interesting candidate as the friendlies have shown he is going to be given a license to get forward whenever he wants, plus his goal record is outstanding in Holland.
Two higher priced ones are possibly worth a small interest (unlike Sissoko) with Siem de Jong certainly having goals in him if he gets fully fit, whilst injuries for Cisse and Mitrovic could even make the 33/1 on Riviere look enticing.
Here are the front runners with a few other ‘interesting’ candidates picked out as well, the full list can be seen by going HERE;
9/4 Aleksandar Mitrovic
11/4 Papiss Cisse
7/2 Ayoze Perez
5/1 Georginio Wijnaldum
10/1 Moussa Sissoko
14/1 Siem de Jong
33/1 Emmanuel Riviere
