Rolando Aarons has hopefully put his injury problems well behind him, as on Tuesday night he showed star quality.

Whilst most of his teammates looked way off the pace, Aaron delivered a great low cross from the left for Georginio Wijnaldum’s opener (watch that HERE), this was despite starting the game in an unfamiliar left-back position.

Newcastle then went on to dramatically collapse to an embarrassing scoreline of 4-1 against the third tier American team, before Rolando Aarons added a bit of respectability with two late goals and the match ended 4-3.

Aarons’ first goal a superb overhead kick, Gael Bigirimana’s low right wing cross reaching the winger (makeshift full-back) who chipped it up with his right foot before using his left to put it in the back of the net.

I can understand why McC made his match choice for last night and we should be glad he did, what rubbish defense we have has stayed uninjured. Small mercy. We need those C.B’s desperately. Good to see the forward line is doing better. This trip was organised before the new coach was in post so its not his fault. On this display we need new bodies if we are to survive the EPL.

Another great result for us….Just what we needed really… Now there can be no doubt that we are desparate for some tall defenders who can head a ball. Three headed goals against us shows up exactly why we struggled so much last season. We need a “John Terry” type in the heart of the defence…
