Georginio Wijnaldum is on his way to Tyneside to discuss terms with Newcastle United.

PSV confirmed in an official statement this morning that the two clubs had agreed a transfer fee and the player was leaving their training camp to fly to Newcastle.

So what can we look forward to from the PSV playmaker and Dutch international?

Have a look at these goals and skills and feel your spirits rise…

    Hey – hang on!

Where’s all the usual professional whingers shouting about how that Ashley charlatan never spends any cash? About how if we didn’t sign anyone yesterday we never would ever again? About any amount of fabricated anger at the Club, its manager, its Board? About all the invented garbage printed in the Chronicle every day?

    I NEED MY HATE!

Finally… This one’s looking pretty good. With no injuries we could field Aarons/Tiote/Cabella/Sissoko/Wijnaldum (and perhaps, even, DeJong). Not too shabby.

Can potentially see a new phrase being coined through McClaren tactics.

De Jong and Wijnaldum breaking from midfield with an overlapping Janmaat on the right = The Dutch Press

looks like a sissoko replacement (at least we get a replacement for once)

There’s no way this lad was ever going to go to any club
that didn’t show it had any ambitions…he’s top class, young, and will one day
lead Holland. He knows the framework is already at the club with players who
have been brought up on the concept of ‘total football’…not brought up on  hammering long, high balls up into massed
defences, and hoping for the best.

…The idea of who can he play alongside won’t
matter…if we have the players (Wijnaldum, De Jong, Janmaat, Anita, Sissoko, Cabella, Aarons) in midfield who can keep possession, and move quickly with it.

…We have that level of coaching in place now…so all we need is some
goal scoring quality to spearhead (Mitrovic / Austin), and at least one top
    line Centre Back  (Matip)…
