A behind closed doors match between a young Newcastle United team and Corby Town, saw 17 year old Dani Koks make his first appearance in black and white.

The midfielder has came up through the youth system at Ajax and is spending time at Newcastle with a view to a possible permanent move to Tyneside.

Leading 2-0 at half-time against the non-league opposition, a host of changes saw United eventually lose 3-2 with visiting striker Kurtis Revan grabbing a hat-trick.

The match was played behind closed doors at Newcastle’s Little Benton training centre.

Also, getting some action was Callum Douglas, the young local born striker who has been living in Spain and scoring a load of goals at youth level over there.

Douglas is another player on trial who is hoping to win a permanent contract at Newcastle, the 6ft 3 striker is just 16 years of age and looking to make the most of this opportunity with his hometown club.

It was though Mackenzie Heaney and Jamie Holmes who gave Newcastle a two goal lead on Tuesday night before Corby Town turned it around in the second half.

The visiting striker who stole the show, Kurtis Revan, was actually on Derby County’s books under Steve McClaren but was released from their Academy last year.

No doubt he will be added to the list of the countless players the new Newcastle Head coach is said to be going to be ‘reunited’ with at St James Park!

So, what started as a quite interesting article, highlighting the fact that there are young and hungry players out there who would jump at the chance to play for NUFC (even with our bad  rep), has been totally spoilt by the childish poke at the new head coach before he´s even had a chance to earn our respect/disdain !!

And people wonder why nobody takes us seriously !!!
