Finding the horses
Mike Ashley’s analogy of the cart before the horse was interesting.

The club desperately needs the ‘Football Board’ to perform now, as it creates a new structure for sustainable success, or they need to be fired.
The pressure is on – months of delay in the appointment of an inspirational, visionary, credible manager can only be justified IF the right appointment is made.
Without that urgently needed appointment, player recruitment will falter or even fail as time runs out and then the season lies ahead with a weak squad in need of strength and depth.
We all have had good and bad bosses in our time, but few of us have had inspirational leaders to follow.
When we have been lucky enough to have one, everything falls into place, just look at the successful times at M&S and Vodafone when they had such leaders.
Find and appoint such a person and the club will attract likeminded, ambitious players and their salaries become less important to them, they would be driven by a club philosophy to achieve success – cue the club returning to top 6 or better.
However, appoint an individual with no vision, limited credibility and no ability to inspire both players and fans alike and a long period of average or poor productivity and results will follow, perhaps even relegation.
Worse still, the club will have to pay inflated fees and salaries to attract even the average players to achieve mediocrity.
So, perhaps the fans should now focus on the ‘Football Board members’ a little more? After all, they hold the future of every Newcastle fan’s passion in their hands……
Just imagine if you put forward the name of the person that turned the club’s fortunes around.
It seems, I am now interested in horses, or maybe I should just go out and buy a mobile phone for The Football Board to receive Ashley’s call on …
