Newcastle United are once again taking part in the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tournament.

United featured in group matches on Saturday against Singapore Cricket Club, BC Rangers (Hong Kong) and Leicester City.

On total 16 clubs are represented in the main tournament at Happy Valley, with Aston Villa, Stoke and West Ham also sending teams.

The 2015 squad: Bartlett, Sterry, Laidler, Williams, Roberts, Heardman, Barlaser, Gilliead, Gillesphey, Smith and Hunter.

The matches are seven minutes each half and Newcastle made the perfect start.

Goals from Alex Gilliead and Callum Roberts (2) gave NUFC a 3-0 win over Singapore Cricket Club in their opening match.

This was followed by a goalless draw against local side BC Rangers.

Needing a draw or better to go through to Sunday’s next stage of the competition, United faced Leicester City.

Newcastle will face Aston Villa for a place in the semi-finals.

What’s the bloody point man. No-one has the courage to integrate them into the first team and instead trawl the continent looking for bargains to flip. Our biggest ever sale was one of our own club youngsters who was there before any of these muppets. Give them a chance you utter morons. And that does NOT mean one appearance then slaughtered in the press messrs Pardew and Carver.
