Louis Van Gaal ‘Manchester United have to do their best – especially for Newcastle United’
Louis Van Gaal says that his players have to do their best on Sunday ‘especially for Newcastle United’.
The Manchester United boss says that his team need to do their very best for their own credibility and has pledged they will do their best to take six points off Hull City, just as they’ve done against Newcastle.
More importantly, Van Gaal has pledged to play his strongest team and has confirmed that Wayne Rooney definitely plays and that he will give the outstanding David de Gea as much time as possible to prove his fitness for the Hull City match.
Louis Van Gaal:
“Wayne is available, he is the captain so he will play.
“I don’t know at the moment if David (de Gea) will play at the moment, he trained today but only with the goalkeeping coach. He still has a little problem but I’ll wait a day longer as I want him to play against Hull City.”
Strongest team:
“I think you have to put out your strongest team because it’s very important for Hull City. We need to defend our image as Manchester United and we are ending in fourth position, so we have got to give our utmost best.
“We haven’t won many (six) matches away so it’s very difficult to beat Premier League clubs away. We shall do our utmost best – we have to do it for the honesty of the league.”
Especially for Newcastle United:
“I have to put my strongest team because we have to give everything for all the other Premier League clubs, and especially of course Newcastle United.
“We have taken six points off Newcastle United and we have to take six points off Hull City, I think.
“I have said to the players in spite of him (Steve Bruce) being a Manchester United guy, we have to do what everybody is expecting from us.”
