Louis Van Gaal says that his players have to do their best on Sunday ‘especially for Newcastle United’.

The Manchester United boss says that his team need to do their very best for their own credibility and has pledged they will do their best to take six points off Hull City, just as they’ve done against Newcastle.

More importantly, Van Gaal has pledged to play his strongest team and has confirmed that Wayne Rooney definitely plays and that he will give the outstanding David de Gea as much time as possible to prove his fitness for the Hull City match.

Louis Van Gaal:

“Wayne is available, he is the captain so he will play.

“I don’t know at the moment if David (de Gea) will play at the moment, he trained today but only with the goalkeeping coach. He still has a little problem but I’ll wait a day longer as I want him to play against Hull City.”

Strongest team:

“I think you have to put out your strongest team because it’s very important for Hull City. We need to defend our image as Manchester United and we are ending in fourth position, so we have got to give our utmost best.

“We haven’t won many (six) matches away so it’s very difficult to beat Premier League clubs away. We shall do our utmost best – we have to do it for the honesty of the league.”

Especially for Newcastle United:

“I have to put my strongest team because we have to give everything for all the other Premier League clubs, and especially of course Newcastle United.

“We have taken six points off Newcastle United and we have to take six points off Hull City, I think.

“I have said to the players in spite of him (Steve Bruce) being a Manchester United guy, we have to do what everybody is expecting from us.”

ManU have been Jekyll and Hyde all season ,which one turns up on Sunday against Hull ?

  • RaySte

Hate Man U but Van Gaal seems a class act I must say. Better than the last cnut anyway

LVG says, “We shall do our utmost best – we have to do it for the honesty of the league.” Unbelievable. Never thought I’d see the day when Man Ure have more integrity than us.

I’ve never really liked Van Gaal (since AZ Alkmaar in 2007) but he’s going to change my opinion if he delivers on Sunday. Maybe having Krul and Janmaat is going to work in our favour as he probably likes them more than Mrs Doubtfire.

Come on you R— <tastes sick in mouth> Nah, there are limits that even I won’t stoop to. Just do your best, Manchester team.

Get your prayer mats out and if necessary tell the world that Manu are your second favourite team. Probably the only chance we have of staying up is for them to put Hull to bed on Sunday. Again not looking forward to the game but will enjoy the beer and pie in the Black Bull.

kuromori If the Cup Final was between Manure and the Mackems, I would switch it off.

  • kuromori

Porciestreet I’d force myself to watch it to see the mackems get beat but I’d turn it off immediately on the final whistle so I couldn’t see Man Ure celebrate.

Every time I hear statements like this, I think “He’s going to do the opposite” as did Bryan Robson when boss of Middlesbrough when we needed Boro to beat Man U when we almost won league. He actually brought back an ex-Man U keeper who had a stinker.
No, we can’t depend on them. They’ll fold – as will our lot no doubt

or did he say f**k it lads Stevie Bruce is a legend at this club…and i love trips to Hull city of Culture 2017

Can you imagine us having the chance to relegate Manu if we lost a nothing game against Hull!!

    dafoenz Well there ya go!

Just my opinion but I think Van Gaal seems a pretty decent savvy guy and, unlike The antichrist Ferguson, is a straight talking intelligent manager. Pity he joined the damned united!
