Thanks to everybody who helped us come up with our fans choice of the Newcastle team v West Ham.

Using our interactive feature,  NUFC team selector, we asked you to choose your preferred formation and starting eleven.

The most popular was a 3-4-1-2 formation with some major choices made by the fans collectively.

The mood very much appears to be all or nothing, with supporters wanting Aarons, de Jong and Cisse all in the starting eleven despite not necessarily being 100%.

Despite options so limited at the back, there was minimal support for Williamson returning, leading to the fans selecting a three at the back formation with full-back options such as Jonas, Anita and Ryan Taylor getting little support.

Mehdi Abeid was an overwhelming choice to start in midfield, with Ryan Taylor hardly registering a vote.

Quite a ‘dangerous’ formation (not to WHU, to us!) but, hey, the time for caution is way past.

Never mind holding on until half time, we must get a goal(s) early today. Psychology is vital in these matches, and the longer we’re at 0-0, then the more Hull will fight.

If we can get in front for a while, then Hull’s confidence will gradually disappear. So, the attacking formation, with the best attackers, right from the start – not after 70 mins, please.

  • Jamiekgordon

    Yeah let’s change the formation…
    Great idea
What about getting rid of Pardew…
    Great idea

NUFCTheMag decent squad! But that won’t be the case NUFC use this side

  • Sushimonster85

NUFCTheMag not much protection for that back 3 there

  • SGM

You can see why fans (Carver) don’t make good coaches.

  • geordienewt

NUFCTheMag Haha and that’s why fans (like Carver) shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near team selection

It’s funny that when I first went to a football match (Man City v Fulham in 1957), and when I played football (in the days when leather studs had nails in them to attach to the stiff leather boot), it was five in the front row, three behind and then two fullbacks. Where did it all go wrong?

By the way, I should add to my previous comment a confession …… I spent about 50 minutes last night, here in the Phliippines,  trying to get a live feed on my computer. I tried to get a radio commentary. I looked at the BBC ‘live score’ and found nothing. I double checked the World clock to ensure that I had got the time difference correct. I then checked and noted that the match was actually 24 hours later, i.e in about two hours from now. Duh.

  • Andgeo

    That’s our best team.

  • alreet

He has just released the team and OMG it is one of the most negative teams ive seen all season. No cabella no aarons no de jong. Guti shouldnt be starting.

  • alreet

Ok I as wrong but who wold have predicted the failytail finish, not me.
Guti starting and playing like a demon along with all of them for the first time in ages.
Now dont get too jubilant coz the season has been the worst in many a season. We need not want but need a huge clearout, new coaching staff from top to bottom, all the dead wood gone and serioous investment.
We have comne way too close to relegation this time, and if he is to be in charge for the forseeable then ahs needs to change his ways.

  • Toon Magpie

No one saw it. Expected a draw at best but the team were up for it today, you could see the difference. It is better that we won to stay up rather than have to rely of Hull not to win. And we finished above the Mackems. Terrible rollercoaster season though. Hoping Ashley does change his ways, he did indicate he would let’s see now. £60-£100 spent on players and a decent manager to push us forward.
