  • Replace Taylor with Anita and Riviere for Sammy and we might have a chance. Really hope he plays Satka rather than some stupid move that sees someone played massively out of position.

The only way I would have Ameobi near the pitch is if they stuck a flag on his head and used him as a corner post. Not good enough just like Obertan. Get Aarons on the pitch from the off and lets try for an early goal.

  • terriertwo I can’t see them risking Aarons with 2 games still to play after this one. I can see the thinking of risking him but at the same time his hamstring goes 20 minutes in and people will be moaning about rushing him back. Good bench option today I think.

WTF Sissoko??? No way, let Kemen make his debut, he will eat the grass!

  • Paul Patterson

The defence is what it is, but the best one we have is Jonas at left back, Taylor at right back, (Colo and Satka in the middle)
Get Obertan and Cabella on the flanks and get balls out to them at the earliest opportunity.
Colback and Abeid in the middle with Sissoko just off Perez up front.

    Riviere???? Really

  • crediblejustin736 Very easy to look at his goal tally and automatically say he is rubbish but when he has played I think he has done a decent job in most games of holding the ball up and giving us a presence up top. His hold up play is pretty good and can bring the likes of Perez into the game.

Against a team with 2 big centre halves like West Brom have there is no point just having Perez up there on his own.

To be fair to Riviere too it isn’t like he is missing bucket loads of chances – like De Jong last year he is in and out of a team that is not playing well or creating many chances and isn’t really getting many chances to score.

Made a goal against Swansea and would have scored but not for a good save from Fabianski.

I feel sorry for the lad to be honest and think we look a better side with him up top putting himself about and winning some headers etc.

Carver taking him off for Armstrong at home to Burnley cost us 2 points which at this point in time would be pretty useful.

He is another in a long line of scapegoats for me that people are quick to criticise by simply looking at his goal record and ignoring anything else. Yes of course as a striker he should be scoring goals but needs to be judged properly when given a proper run in a better team playing better football.

In our current situation with our current long ball tactics though he has to play for me.

NUFCTheMag no ball retention or intelligence up top there what so ever

wudnt av Taylor in hes way off the pace wud rather av Anita at r/b he’s got more pace & he’s not shattered after 10 mins, also wud av Rivière up front with Perez he need sum1 alongside him we r at home & we have to go for it 2day we need sum aggression so wud def play Abeid in midfield at least he gets stuck in. Team Krul Anita Collo Satka gutti, Abeid Colback Sissoko Cabella, Rivière Perez, hopefully Aaron’s wil play sum part comin off the bench

  • Nastynorm

No way Taylor at r/b he’s no good against any1 with pace plus I think his injuries have caught up with him the premier is to much 4 him

  • KevinBrown11

Good team selection, think if arrons half fit I’d maybe put him on at half-time if the game is level, give us some width with pace, running at there defence with pace think your right with Rivierae up top with Perez

  • NottsToon

Well clearly none us know as much as “the best coach in the league” do we…..

Here is your Newcastle United starting line-up this afternoon against West Bromwich Albion:

NUFC: Krul, Anita, Coloccini, Dummett, Gutierrez, Sissoko, R Taylor, Colback, Perez, Riviere, Cabella

Subs: Woodman, Satka, Abeid, Ameobi, Aarons, Gouffran, Cisse

  • Alsteads

How about asking the 11 lads at Blyth Spartans what they are up to this afternoon or even 11 fans from around the ground. Seriously…….you would guarantee more commitment, vocal to each other in their organisation, ability to get stuck in and win first balls and they wouldn’t look like they wanted to be anywhere else but in a Newcastle United FC bloody shirt!!
Who ever that clown picks, go on just prove me wrong today!! The way things are shaping up even a win today won’t be enough and we will almost certainly need another win out of the last two games.

True mate, just heard cesse is on the bench can see him coming on and scoring a couple,
