Time for action
So much has been written and spoken about the derby game at the Stadium of Light today.
However, despite the rhetoric this is a game where the Newcastle fans can go to the City of the damned in reasonably good humour.

After all, it’s not United but the Mackems who are perilously hovering above the drop zone. They have but one point more than QPR and Burnley and the latter play before our game against Spurs at 1.30pm, which could take them out of the bottom three and drop the unwashed into the relegation spin drier at maximum speed.
Admittedly we aren’t flying high at the moment but if ever there was a time to take advantage of the neighbours’ predicament, it’s today! They need a result. They’re playing at home and their last home game was a 0-4 thumping against Villa who were 0-3 up at HT.
So for Carver, if he has the balls, this is a very winnable game. It appeared that at the start of the second half of the Gooners game, the craggy eyed Geordie finally found his reason for being and gave the players the green light to attack the opposition, rather than sit back, defend, watch the goals go in and hope for the best.
What every United fan knows is our defence is nowhere near as good as our attack and offensive midfield, which isn’t brilliant. So it makes sense to take the game to the opposition, putting them on the back foot and doing a ‘Villa’ against them in the first half. They’re the ones who will be cautious so we need to attack with pace and invention.
So my front four would include Arma, Cabs, Sissoko and Perez. The holding midfield of Colback and Abeid with Jonas, Janmaat (God bless him) Williamson (oh why oh why?) and Raylor in front of TK.
If we’re positive from the start we’ll win the game easily. If we try to ‘stay in the game’ and ‘contain’ we’ll allow them to gain confidence and pressurise our back four.
It’s time for you to stand up and show us all what you’re being paid for Carver.
