Only six days after yet another humiliating Newcastle defeat to Sunderland, Alan Pardew was the next visitor at the Stadium of Light.

You could have wrote the script.

After 4 goals in only 14 second-half minutes, the Sunderland fans deserted by their thousands with still half an hour left.

A last minute goal by Connor Wickham scant consolation for our local rivals.

The last three home games for the mackems reads:

Sunderland 0 Aston Villa 4

Sunderland 1 Newcastle 0

Sunderland 1 Crystal Palace 4

The thing is as well, in reality Sunderland could have easily beaten Newcastle by three or four.

This calendar year, Sunderland have won only one other home match. That 2-0 win over Burnley is the only other Premier League match at the Stadium of Light where they have scored a goal since a 3-1 home defeat by Hull on Boxing Day.

In their last 22 Premier League matches, Sunderland have only won 3 matches, 2 of those were against Newcastle…

Sunderland are useless and currently Newcastle are even worse, that is how bad things are at St. James’ Park.

I don’t whether to laugh or cry.

The thought of Alan Pardew’s face on Match of The Day is something that I might just want to avoid.

  • Eugene Au

pardew might be not good enough as our manager but at least he could do better without ashley.

  • Malcolm Hall

just compare the stas for Newcastle and Crystal Palace since Alan Pardew took over……says it all imo…Palace were on 17 points.

  • newcastle7

Pardew is a great manager. There are only a few good English managers and he is one of the best.At home we could have won by six with their keeper man of the match. Please admit you were all wrong and name me a better English manager than Pardew.I await your reply with interest. As you will not be at Anfield on Monday will discuss in Bar Loco next Sunday especially with the chap with the beard who hated Pardew with a passion.

  • Andy Brannen

Disgrace , again by every1 from NUFC

  • andyknox2

NUFCTheMag gibbyobertan Derby took 4 points off us when they were relegated with a record low points tally

  • creamofgold

I think now, more than ever – people will finally realise that as much as Pardew was a puppet, the problem is our owner. It always has been and always will be until he sells. It all points to him and the conditions he creates. Credit to Alan for bouncing back (Partridge reference intended) at a team that provide freedom, authority and responsibility to their manager. We are desperately terrible and I envy fans across the entire country whose teams play with ambition and passion.

  • SGM

Well done Pards. Palace go to the SOL and get 3 points, dose that make Palace a better side than Newcastle? or dose that make Pards a better manager than the one we have? vote now.

  • NottsToon

So because an entirely different team beat the Mackems, something Pardew failed to do on 4 occasions with Newcastle, fans were wrong to want him out?
Conveniently forgetting all his lies, PR spin, excuses, awful negativity, dreadful tactics and the numerous absolute pasting we got under his charge.
Logic not your strong point is it?

  • SGM

creamofgold The problem isn’t wholly down to the owner. He’s got bigger fish to fry than NUFC, its an unusual combination of Owner, Advisors, Scouts, The Manager, Coaches, and Players. getting shut of Ashley ( like getting shut of Pardew ) isn’t going to solve our probs. just like Carver isn’t solving the current situation.

  • SGM

NottsToon But wasn’t he a puppet?

  • Toonarden

creamofgold   It has ALWAYS been about our owner.
Yes Pardew and now Carver are two very very poor examples of manager/coaches and Pardew will, in a short time, undo everything he is doing at the moment for Crystal Palace, but Ashley has been our main problem from Day One – eight years ago when he purchased the club and ran it like a cheap tat Sports Direct outlet.
Any supporter of the Toon that wants progress has to back this Ashley Out campaign or expect many years of the same-  lies, lies and more lies, antagonism, indifference, deviousness, disrespect, personal greed, raping the club of its history and finance and lack of any ambition other than to line his and Sports Direct pockets.
Let’s get him out NOW and stand together without being deflected by such disgraceful Ashley men like our old captain Moncur. Shame on him.

  • NottsToon

Absolutely no relevance on the puppet comment.
Yeh, Pardew is awesome, how many thumpings did we get under him? How did that 1 up front formation work out?

  • creamofgold

SGM creamofgold The owner sets the tone and operational strategy, so everything is attributed to him. It starts and ends with Ashley. Great, we’re solvent…profitable even. Who cares if we don’t have ambition, passion and pride? We are a shadow of what we used to be, mean and symbolise.

  • David Grey

Not sure if I’m pissed off at the mackems for raising their games against us or at us for not being able to raise ours against them

  • SGM

NottsToon But you could say that the Lies,
PR Spin, Excuses, Awful negativity, Dreadful tactics, were down to the fact that he was following orders. and that he was operating under extreme conditions
You can’t deny the fact that he has turned around Palace. thats down to HIS input.

  • NottsToon

SGM NottsToon You could say that, and it wouldn’t make him any less guilty of them, in fact it would also add mercenary and without honour to his list of negatives.

Operating at a new club, without restrictions and actually signing players must be helping him. You can argue the case for him at Palace all you want, but none of it will change how utterly incompetent and complicit he was during the vast majority of his time at Newcastle.

  • creamofgold

@Toonarden I’m with you, mate. That is precisely my point. Fans complain week in, week out, then turn up for home games and line his pockets like trained animals. We need to vote with our feet, as cutting off his revenue is the only thing he’ll respond to.

  • Chemical Dave

Pardew took us on our worst sequence of results against Sunderland in our history, Carvers just extended it bud.

  • SGM

creamofgold SGM I disagree the owner dos’nt set the tone. thats the players attitude on the pitch, of which they are in complete controle, Im no great fan of Ashley, but he dosnt gob in the face of other players he dosnt get red cards needlessly or decide to -Rule himself out- Its a combination of factors.

  • SGM

NottsToon SGM That run we had of 5 straight wins (under him) has saved us.
    I hope.

  • NottsToon

SGM NottsToon Oh yeh, and we were like f**king Brazil 70 for a whole 5 matches. You couldn’t make it up.

  • SGM

    NottsToon SGM 15 points
where would we be without them NOW.

  • creamofgold

@SGM The owner (in this case a single individual versus a board) does set the tone and defines the way that every employee operates. I’m talking big picture, as all layers under him ultimately do as they are told. You could argue that the playing staff and coaches have a responsibility to deliver performances regardless of the surrounding conditions, but that is output. The wider parameters under which we are structured and built are 100% set by Mike Ashley. We operate under his conditions.

  • Gary Linney

bith of both David. They must have been ‘up for it’ after the last lot of derby results… and the Toon never showed up… bloody embarrassing. I’ve given up I can’t watch it anymore. ASHLEY OUT!!!

  • NottsToon

SGM NottsToon A step closer to shaving millions from Fattys profit, and hopefully hastening his exit.

  • toon tony

It shows how s#!Te we really are. Season ticket any one! !???

  • SGM

NottsToon SGM I would prefer to stay up and keep Ashley,
than go down and get the Venkeys or worse, Vincent Tann.
Anyone buying NUFC is going to want there pound of flesh.
    ITS A BUSINESS.

  • NotFatFreddy

If anyone is looking for an ‘in-form-Coach’  :>)

  • Willvenus1

It makes Palace a far better side than us. As for the vote, pointless. We don’t have a manager in case you hadn’t noticed

  • SGM

Chemical Dave Its not just bought Sunderland FFS. widen your scope. I want to see the whole of the North East do well in the Prem, I don’t want to see Sunderland go down, I want to see the best game of the season, every season.

  • Willvenus1

It makes Palace a far better side than us. As for the vote, pointless. We don’t currently have a manager, in case you hadn’t noticed

  • NottsToon

SGM NottsToon 92 league clubs and less than 10 (including us) have had nightmare owners in recent times, yet every nugget claims worst case scenario even though the odds are so stacked against it.

    IT’S FOOTBALL

If you want a business go any buy some shares in Sh1te Direct numb nuts.

  • SGM

Willvenus1 Yeh we do, Pardews coach is now our manager thanks to “sackpardew.com”. fat lot of good they did us.

  • SGM

NottsToon SGM Sorry mucker but thanks to SKY its a business. ask the owners or should i say the businessmen.

  • NottsToon

SGM NottsToon Ah, now it makes sense. You’re not a football fan, you’re a business fan.

That balance sheet must have felt like a European Cup to you, congrats.

  • SGM

NottsToon SGM Stop dreaming and look at the reality, you may well see the light.

  • Conman

I really don’t think they did. If he is this super manager, he should have had belief and come out and slated the hierarchy. Not backed them all along.
He is now succeeding on other people’s work. Let’s see what happens in a a few seasons but as I said, if he had balls and had come out and said he was being hamstrung, we would have supported him.

  • NottsToon

SGM NottsToon Dreaming is all we have left since ambition, desire, passion and entertainment are now sorely lacking from the empty shell which used to be Newcastle United.

Still, at least we now owe more money than when Fatty took over, all to Fatty, who is incidentally using our Premier League revenue as security against yet another loan….that’s business for you.

  • Toon Magpie

Let’s face it he has a much better team at Crystal Palace.

  • ToonTone100

Makes me wonder just how held back he was at Newcastle – I hold nothing against AP, he was always walking a tightrope between a pathetic owner and us fans.

  • Toon Magpie

    Look inwards.

  • v0ices

Willvenus1 the palace side pardew inherited interesting to see where they are in a year once he’s shaped it to his philosophy

  • NottsToon

ToonTone100 4 derby defeats in a row, numerous thumpings, blatant lies to the fans and appalling, negative tactics and yet you hold nothing against him. Blimey, I wish I had an ounce of your tolerance.

  • v0ices

SGM Willvenus1 pardews coach is now the manager thanks to Ashley. He appointed carver he also allowed pardew to go to palace for a extra few million in his bank balance. You do talk total horse radish.

  • SGM

Conman When was the last time you told you boss “do one” Got kids?.

  • Toon Magpie

SGM Of course  we got it wrong, it takes a real fan to admit it, which one of these mag writters are going to admit they were wrong to lead fans revolt against Pardew. Where is that chap who like putting up Pardew’s stats? Where has he gone?

  • ToonTone100

NottsToon ToonTone100  but looking at the form of Crystal Palace who was ultimately to blame for much of tat .. the manager or the influence above .. ?

  • v0ices

ToonTone100 NottsToon pardews still complicit he did what he was told

  • NottsToon

ToonTone100 NottsToon Complicit by his actions and inaction. He was far from innocent, and don’t let a few victories from an inherited side, as a new manager, fool you.

  • SGM

creamofgold No disagree, when you cross the white line as a footballer your -on your own- you play your game, nothing else matters.

  • Toon Magpie

NottsToon ToonTone100 Time for you to look in mirror fool.

  • Toon Magpie

NottsToon ToonTone100 What have we inherited? A big festering pile of dung?

  • Toon Magpie

Mackems must have not bothered playing against Crystal Palace to make  it look worse for Newcastle. That’s it isnt it? dont  fool yourselves.

  • SGM

v0ices SGM Willvenus1 Ashley didn’t force out Pardew, Fans did. Carver wes the obvious choice (short term common sense) nowt to do with money, that was a bonus.

  • SGM

NottsToon ToonTone100 Your argument holds no substance

  • Toon Magpie

He has better support at Crystal Palace that’s how he won  the 12th man. Wish we could utilize our 12th man more effectively but I think our 12th man is lost cause, like HBA our 12th man never listened to Pardew so we couldn’t get the best out of  him. looking for someone to blame there is your answer our 12th man but like HBA he believes he is misunderstood and the best 12th man ever, so deluded.

  • NottsToon

SGM NottsToon ToonTone100 Yes, if you only judge him on the few weeks at Palace and totally ignore his last 2 years at Newcastle.

  • Toon Magpie

ToonTone100 We should have  supported Pardew before FCB  that’s my opinion.

  • Our club is falling apart, yet all we can talk about is that smug, talentless buffoon. Time to move on.

  • NottsToon

Toon Magpie Oh aye, the supporters lost all those matches, didn’t allow us to compete with giants like Stoke and got us spanked in 4 consecutive derbies. What are you smoking mate?

  • Chemical Dave

Of course its not just about Sunderland man but your original post mentioned them. There’s also Pardew fa cup record which was the worst in the clubs history, nice of carver to extend that too . Fraudew also was in charge when we suffered our worst top flight home result in 100 years, who’ve we got left, can cardew extend that too ? Appreciate you miss him, would’ve thought the run we’re on now would remind you of happier times, like this time last year when Fraudew was manager ?

  • Toon Magpie

Jm Robinson force yourself to watch MOTD and Alan Pardew’s face. Avoid looking in the mirror is my advice.

  • creamofgold

SGM I agree that they should be better and try harder, but our squad is really weak and the team is nowhere near good enough to challenge for anything. Why are they not good enough? Because we are not enabled for success. That is down to Ashley.

  • 2someitsonlyagame

SGM v0ices Willvenus1  Pardew has stated on many occasions that the fans were not to blame for his departure, i do not understand why you are getting so worked up about it because according to you ” it is only football “.

  • Toon Magpie

scudo Force yourself to him tonight, you have to learn from your mistakes if this club is to go forward.

  • v0ices

SGM v0ices Willvenus1 he was never forced out he left for a better job, he looks 10 years younger. Good luck to him but don’t rewrite history for Ashley’s benefit.

  • SGM

2someitsonlyagame SGM v0ices Willvenus1 But he would say that, wouldn’t he?.

  • Chemical Dave

Haha, the five wins were down to him but not the rest of thecrap

  • Toon Magpie

NottsToon Toon Magpie I am smoking the hard reality of the situation not living in a fantasy world believing fans were right.

  • v0ices

NottsToon Toon Magpieits just a distraction to blame the fans for Ashley’s actions divide and conqour

  • Toon Magpie

v0ices NottsToon Toon Magpie We should have supported Pardew over FCB.

  • SGM

creamofgold SGM Sorry disagree again. He hasn’t invested enough, given, but he has invested, but look a what we’ve bought, some responsibility has to fall at the feet of the scouts.

  • v0ices

Toon Magpie SGM probably moved on like you should.

  • Toon Magpie

NottsToon SGM ToonTone100 4th and 5th in league this year under Pardew yet fans were still blaming him. Where is your f…ing blame of Carver manager skills?

  • v0ices

SGM v0ices Willvenus1 what’s common sense about appointing carver who failed at management. Ashley just gambled on the season being over.

  • Toon Magpie

v0ices Toon Magpie SGM Wish we could, but the club is going backwards s

  • Toon Magpie scudo Eh??? We need a decent manager – Carver being in charge is not my mistake. And I wouldn’t take Pardew back under any circumstances.

  • AndyMac1

    “The
thought of Alan Pardew’s face on Match of The Day is something that I
    might just want to avoid”
    Might ? I’ve sold the TV ;-)

  • Toon Magpie

    2someitsonlyagame SGM v0ices Willvenus1 Fans weren’t, militants were.

  • creamofgold

SGM Mate, he sets the transfer policy, sanctions the spending, and ultimately allows/forbids the buying and selling of all players. You need to see beyond the small stuff. It all points back to him. We need more quality players? We need strength in depth? We need to invest more in our academy? We need to buy some proven Premier League talent? We need to be seen as a club that holds on to its best talent? We need a couple of older players to lead by example? We need a sponsor we are proud of? We need to invest in the local community? We need to respect the media? All roads lead to poor decisions governed by Ashley’s business strategy. He is the one that needs to change for us to improve in all areas.

  • Toon Magpie

scudo Toon Magpie what’s with the eh? Of course we need a decent manager who said we didn’t?

It is not about taking Pardew back you fool. The bigger picture is we can look back and see we may well survive this league on Pardew’s points. We can reflect that.

  • Toon Magpie

AndyMac1 Funny man, had a good laugh at that. Cheered me up lol.

  • Shaker_Shakrah

Do you idiots always have to focus on Pardew and his team and Sunderland
    SHUT THE
    MOOOOVE ONNNNNNNNNNN !!!

  • Toon Magpie

Shaker_Shakrah You can’t blame fans for looking back to better times. You should be concentrating your efforts on getting Carver out to put pressure on FCB to buy a proper manager. But no move on? Move on to what. We are sh#te at the moment. There is no team to support, nothing to watch or be even the slightest bit of entertainment. It is like taking a dump in toilet and checking your crap and saying there is a good dump, well done Carver for crapping an even bigger dump for fans to look at. You’re a complete idiot to say move on.

  • Chemical Dave

Better times? Don’t think you’re in any position to dismiss anyone as s complete idiot dude.

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie v0ices NottsToon Why would we support someone who was, it seems, happy to be Fatley’s mouthpiece. You’re talking complete nonsense mate, but then it’s hardly surprising when you are talking in support of Pardspew.

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie NottsToon ToonTone100 Yeah a team that Pardew has been putting through their paces for the last several years.

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie NottsToon SGM ToonTone100 Have you been living under a rock, I haven’t seen one person say Carver is a good manager or indeed not made it blatantly obvious that they think he’s a joke.

  • Toon Magpie scudo My point is I did not force him out. So what mistake am I supposed to learn from? And less of the fool – we’re all supporting the same club.

  • LeazesEnder

  • NotFatFreddy

    M  Mike
    A Ashley’s
    N   Newcastle
    I     In
    A    A
    C   Crisis

For the last time we fans are no longer investing in our beloved NUFC of old, but in Mike Ashley’s cash motivated business regime now also sadly called ‘Newcastle United’ and incorporating such nasty’s as WONGA… a millions miles away from the old NUFC.  It might just be forgivable if we had a squad like Citeh or won just one trophy, but we are on par with the likes of Stoke and WBA and even less ambitious. Pardew spent 5 years building a team and look at us!

For a multimillionaire businessman not to invest in ‘his’ Club to promote then his own brand and name is about the most illogical piece of business I have ever seen.  Yet he wants us to invest (by purchasing Wonga merchandise and tickets etc.) in ‘his’ business plan ‘Newcastle United’???????????

If the fans walk away, then that will be the only business he needs to walk himself.

Even if the gates were 40.000 Mike would be happy due to the other revenues.  It would have to be a regular boycotts and gates of 20,000, but it ain’t going to happen unless Charva takes us down this season, remains as coach and we buy no one and are bottom of the Championship!

  • LeazesEnder

NotFatFreddy I think he’d be 20% less happy!

  • LeazesEnder

Toon Magpie v0ices SGM You’re saying that the protests work then?

  • Toon Magpie

Carver out, will force the man to have to pick another manger, maybe the tea lady can manage.

  • Toon Magpie

I don’t believe we are. I want the club to do better, another set of fans wants the worst, read the comment. The whole idea for me is change for the better not worse.
Get carver out and that’ll put pressure on Ashley.

  • Mister Tee

    @SGM
    He would say what?
The fans didn’t force him out?
Why wouldnt he be completely honest about how he felt about the fans now that he is gone?
What does he have to gain by lying about it now?
We used to give him stick when he was our manager and (hopefully) he will be getting stick when Crystal Palace rock up here next year so I don’t see why you think he is trying some charm offensive in the vain hope some Newcastle fans think better of him?
To be honest I wish he would tell us the exact reasons he left, I’m sure they would have to do with the pressures of working under Ashley and not being allowed to sign players that he wanted or having the likes of Joe Kinnear thrust upon him than a few fans giving him stick. He probably won’t do that either due to most likely having signed some sort of confidentiality agreement with Ashley.
A lot of Newcastle fans will still not feel the least bit sad about Pardew leaving, me included, he is a decent manager by all accounts and I was quite supportive of him the Europa League season, the season after I changed because I could see that he was being undermined but yet was happy to toe the party line and take all the flak for his gaffer.
He was playing at being a football manager but still had the ego of Jose Mourinho.
Good for him that he’s having a few good results down at Palace.
If I was a Palace fan though I’d be savouring these last few months because, as we have all seen, the little batches of good results under Alan Pardew can just as easily be folowed by a whole bunch of unwanted records – and a whole raft of excuses.
    “Wasn’t me guv.”

  • Toon Magpie

Stop protecting carver you moron, he is worse.

  • Toon Magpie

Carver out your moron, why you not saying that? Idiot

  • Toon Magpie

Of course the work they get rid of Pardew but now don’t cut charver any slack, people are giving the man a chance when it is obvious it is not going to work, we deserve better than both of these twits.

  • Toon Magpie

Well said, the problem is the entire shitty system we have at Newcastle.

  • Toon Magpie

Will protests work against Ashley I believe not, the man is far too stubborn.

  • Toon Magpie

    Tea lady is available

  • Toon Magpie

Give carver the same stick Pardew got and carver will implode or explode at the fans and game over carver, job done.

  • Toon Magpie

Sill supporting carver you idiot, carver is worse. Force out carver.

  • Toon Magpie

Don’t see you wanting chaver out though because he is a Geordie you as much the problem as FCB and can’t see it

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie Where did I say I support Carver you absolute plank. That Carver is worse than Pardew is not in quesiton nor have I done so. A person who can barely write coherently probably should’t be attempting to insult others, especially when they were entirely wrong in the first place. What a f#8king tw*t you are.

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie Once again I don’t support Carver in the least you barely literate fool.

  • v0ices

Toon Magpie carvers not the problem he’s a symptom if you have a headache do you cut your head off to cure it? Ashley out.

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie Words fail me to describe how stupid you seem to be. Why don’t you read my comment again and then again, and then one more time so it sinks in.

  • cwtoon88

ToonTone100 NottsToon Have you watched Palace play? They play the exact same hoof and run Pardew used succesfully for us in the first half of 2011/2012 and so poorly in 2012/2013 and the back end of 2013/2014. All 4 goals today were from hoofs up the pitch
Its working for Palace at the moment as Murray is leading the line well and the pace of Puncheon, Zaha and Bolasie ( cracking player) breaking from behind. When it turns on them and Pardew’s shouting has no more effect on the players we will see the same drop off seen at all of Pardew’s teams

  • Toon Magpie

cwtoon88 ToonTone100 NottsToon At least they have goals  what the fick do we have?

  • Toon Magpie

No comments against Carver from you, no Carver out. You’re a Carver sympathizer. Give me a Carver out comment right now and I’ll rest my case.

  • Toon Magpie

Polarboy Toon Magpie Carver out say it fool

  • newcastle7

Well done Alan the fans who gave you stick are  disgrace. You deserve  manager of the year for what you have done at Palace you are the best English manager full stop.
Look forward to meeting all the Newcastle haters and Pardew must die militants in bar loco a week on Sunday

  • Demented_Man

newcastle7 You really ought to be nominated for the Brown Noser of the Year award.

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie Are actually taking the p^ss? How many times do you have to read that I don’t support Carver at all before it sinks into the thick skull of yours. It must be like a pee stuck inside a melon.

  • Polarboy

Toon Magpie Polarboy You are a f^^king simpleton.

  • Toon Magpie Where did I say I supported Carver as manager. Or that I didn’t want the best for the club?

  • WallaceWilson

It’s a commentary on the comparative abilities of the sorcerer (lol) and his apprentice isn’t it?

  • NottsToon

Well, at least we know where all the Mackems came after this defeat. To post in this comment section it would appear.

If anyone actually believe that Toon Magpie is a Newcastle fan then they are more deluded than those who think that Pardew was doing a decent job.

We all know that Newcastle7 is clearly a loon or a troll, and SGM likewise, but this fella is clearly (through not being particularly bright) a Mackem having a wind up.

  • Jail for Ashley

At the end of the day Pardew had to go, he was more than happy to keep Mashleys reign of destruction propped up until he couldn’t take anymore. If he was still here we would have still been hammered off of M City and turned over by the mackems, we would have been about six or seven points better off sitting in 12th with the rest of the country wondering what we are moaning about. Pardew leaving has well and truly exposed Mikey and his fraudulent sidekick Churnley for what they are, greedy deceitful parasites with no interest in the game of football. With Pardew gone we can now bring attention to the real cause of our problems as Carver simply doesn’t have the skills to give Mikeys circus the flimsy façade of respectability that had a nation thinking we were feeling sorry for ourselves.
    Ashley Out.
