Both Newcastle United and Sunderland are interested in signing Josh Ginnelly according to reports this morning.
The two north east clubs and Stoke City are looking at offering terms to the Shrewsbury winger according to Goal.com.
Ginnelly came through the Aston Villa youth system but was released in 2013 but was picked up by Shrewbury on a two year scholarship.
Professional terms have been offered but having just turned 18 two weeks ago, Josh Ginnelly is waiting to see what other offers are put in front of him.
Making his debut as a 17 year old back in August, the winger only has a handful of substitute appearances but it’s claimed that both Newcastle and Sunderland have had positive scouting reports.
Compensation to Shrewsbury for the player’s development would be minimal and clearly if any deal was done, Ginnelly would be ‘one for the future’.
