Mark Lawrenson ‘Words fail me when it comes to Newcastle…’

Mark Lawrenson says that words fails him when it comes to describing Newcastle United at this minute in time.

The former United defensive coach reckons though that John Carver is simply a good coach in an ‘impossible position’.

In his BBC column, Lawrenson thinks United will end their losing run which currently stands at six, though he believes the match will end in a 1-1 draw.

Mark Lawrenson:

“Words fail me when it comes to Newcastle at the moment.

“They have lost six straight games but I really feel for their manager John Carver because he is in an impossible position.”

He’s a good coach though…:

“He is a good coach too by the way because I’ve seen him at work, he must be tearing his hair out wondering what he can do to turn things round.

“Swansea were beaten at Leicester last time out but they’ve only lost back to back Premier League games three times this season and I cannot see it happening again at St James’ Park, especially with Newcastle playing like their season has already finished.”
