John Carver says that one thing he is sure of is that the Newcastle players won’t ‘shirk responsibilities’.

The Newcastle Head Coach claims that a lot of the team are hurting but he admits he needs even more of that.

Carver however was pleased with his half-time tactical change after having admitted he was was happy that Newcastle were only one goal down at the break.

John Carver:

“I just thought we started the game quite nervously, with a bit of tension, you could see that – I think there was a bit of tension around the stadium.

“I was quite happy actually to go in 1-0 down because we weren’t great, we were poor.”

Tactical genius:

“We came out in the second half and had a great start, I changed it tactically and brought on two wide guys, to get us up the pitch and put pressure on their back four.

“It seemed to work more or less from the kick-off, so that was a positive step.”

No shirking:

“The one thing they (Newcastle players) won’t do is shirk their responsibilities.

“There is a lot of guys in there who do care, it hurts them, but we have to have more of that.”

  • Sean Kelly

so why do they DO exactly that?

  • Peter Nealon

Can the man just not shut his trap!

  • essexMag

Won’t shirk their responsibilities? He must wear a welding mask when watching them play. Loon.

“I was quite happy actually to go in 1-0 down…” Unbelievable, anyone who was there yesterday can’t complain any more it’s there in black and white…

  • pissed off mag

they have already shirked as much responsibility as they could john, as for passion hahahaha what passion

You know when I’m watching the likes of Gouffran, Ameobi, Perez, Cabella and especially Williamson and Anita I am reminded of players in squads who turn up for training in order to pick up their cash every month. Players who huff and puff. Limited ability albeit keen but actually never relied upon to dig out a result. Hence they are never usually selected. They realise their own limitations and move down a league or two where they eke out a reasonable career and lifestyle compared to the average working man. Williamson must laugh himself to sleep at nights wondering when he is going to be found out and shown the door. The money that guy has picked up whilst at the Toon is short of criminal. Whoever made the decision that he could actually play football is from the spaceship that Carver hopes is going to land with some decent players inside it!!
We need some grit and steel for the last few games in order to escape this debacle we are solidly in now.
I fear though when I look at who is available to get us out of this mess that this has now become Mission Impossible.

The problem is that there are too many shirking their responsibilities every week – and still getting picked by this clown

  • ilullissat

Erm Carver they haveare doing exactly that

  • Polarboy

The only thing Carver seems to be good at is implying that it is everybody but his fault for the results we are getting.

Carver, why don’t you start with defending and attacking?? We havnt seen a Newcastle team do either for over 2 years now!!! As long as you are head coach, mike ashley is failing in his responsibility to appoint a real manager. As long as you continue to pick gouffran and obertan you are Pauling in your responsibility to pick a team. And, as long as players are getting sent off in the manner that sissoko and cisse were the players are failing in their responsibilities. Negligent from top to bottom!!!! There is only one way for john carver to take responsibility and that is to resign immediately!!!

  • Andgeo

Bit rough on Perez putting him in the same camp as Williamson, shovel foot mark 2 and the ‘romulan’ brothers!!! Perez would be class even in an averagely good premier league team.

  • GORDO1674

Aye fair point I suppose. Bit harsh as he does show certain promise. Just looks lightweight against top defenders. Never seems to run at them and is always static when he receives the ball which makes it easy for them to dispossess him of the ball. Class! I don’t think so.
Cabella is a five a side player. A good one. But no use on a full size pitch. Head down, dribble dribble oops lost it again.

What we need is a Barton,Nolan.Bellamy,on the field to make their gobs go and get these plodders to put in a shift. No leadership on or off the pitch. Dead men walking. Must be someone out there to get us out of this mess. Quite happy to pay more for my season ticket if it means I get to watch a team performing for the supporters and not just turning up for the money.
