Jack Colback says that Newcastle aren’t safe from relegation as yet and need to win a game as quickly as possible.
The Geordie midfielder also stating there hasn’t been much ‘sweetness’ in the last half dozen games, which is pretty much understatement of the year.
Those six defeats on the bounce are only part of the story of course.
The Newcastle United record reads only 2 wins in 15 games under John Carver and 3 in 20 when you include Alan Pardew’s last five matches.
“There hasn’t been much sweetness for the past six games, it’s a difficult period, but there is no hiding place.
“You have to come out as a player and show what you can do, nothing I can say that will help the fans.”
“We have to win a game as quickly as possible and get a few more, then finish the season on a bit more of a positive note and kick on next season.
“If we are not careful we will get dragged into it (relegation battle), it’s a dangerous moment and we would be naive to think that we’re out of it just yet.”
On the basis of what we have seen in recent weeks and months, I wouldn’t fancy predicting where that next win will come from…
