Thanks to everybody who helped us come up with our fans choice of the Newcastle team v Liverpool.

Using our interactive feature,  NUFC team selector, we asked you to choose your preferred formation and starting eleven.

You can still do the same by following the simple instructions HERE and then there are a number of great options where you can then also share your team via Twitter (include @nufcthemag in your tweet and we will share some of them with our 13k+ followers) , or you can share the selector on Facebook with friends, family and the rest of the black and white world.

However, the fans choice overall so far for team selection and formation is below, a 4-3-3 set-up with a number of changes from the team that failed against the mackems.

Vurnon Anita sneaks in at right-back to allow Jack Colback to get back into midfield, with Ryan Taylor switching back over to the left. One interesting selection was one supporter had Anita in at centre-back…

Mehdi Abeid was seen as a no-brainer by most to get another chance in midfield, with Yoan Gouffran hardly registering at all.

Jonas was a popular choice to stay in the team in any number of positions, whilst almost by default/desperation, Emmanuel Riviere is the fans’ choice to give at least some kind of help to Ayoze Perez up front, with Remy Cabella falling away after his dismal no-show against Sunderland.

NUFCTheMag woodman. Janmaat. Satka. Sterry. Gillesphey. Kemen. Colback. Abeid. Armstrong. Perez. Roberts would be mine. Aarons if fit too

  • roykaviani

NUFCTheMag just keep Gouffran on the bench and I’ll be alreet.

  • TheRaw_D

roykaviani NUFCTheMag As long as it’s a park bench that’s fine by me

  • Andgeo

    Anita, janmaat, satka, Raylor
    Abeid, colback, sissoko
    Perez, Armstrong, Cabella
Williamson, ameobi and gouffran must be dropped, and should never play for nufc again. Total dross, I’d have a supporter lottery to fill their places in the team if necessary. Giving someone the chance of a lifetime would be more worthwhile than forcing us to enjure any more of their incompetent behaviour.

  • roykaviani

TheRaw_D NUFCTheMag but as usual, I bet he starts. Getting sick of this and just waiting for the next 3 points so I can sleep till August

  • TheRaw_D

roykaviani NUFCTheMag We won’t go down mate, too many shite teams below us. That said we’re trying very hard to back that particular trend

  • roykaviani

TheRaw_D NUFCTheMag I know, but there’s always a chance.mbut I think we’ll win 2 more anyway before end of the season.

I dont think that works for two reasons. Sissoko out right and Jonas anchoring midfield is not the best use of resource.

I’d go with three up front but Cabs instead of Sissoko. He’d move to the front of the midfield three with Abeid and Colback anchoring. The problem with Raylor at LB is he’s up against Sterling which isnt good. So I’d be inclined to use and Colback doubling up as we havent a natural LB now that Santon has thrown his toys out of the pram and demanded a move to bigger and better things ;-) Lucky bastad

  • Jarra MIck

Andy I think Santon would dispute that and has. He has basically called Carver a liar about the circumstances of his move so you take your choice as to who you believe? You can believe Carver if you like as he has an A1 record with honesty.

  • Jarra MIck

I cannot believe anyone would actually vote to have Anita anywhere near the first team. He is about as good a footballer as John Carver is a manager. Taylor will play and it doesn’t really matter which wing as Liverpool will target him and exploit his lack of speed. Let’s just hope he calms down after his performance or lack of it against the Mackems and actually tries to play the football we know he can. Of all the players v 5under1and I thought at least Cabella wanted the ball and tried to do something with it.

  • Toon Magpie

    AlreAdy 1-0 down.

  • Andgeo

3 shots at goal in the first half must be a 2015 best for Nufc. 2 of those from abeid, nice change from gouffran.

  • Brownale69

Total shte against a Liverpool team that were nowt! If we had a decent striker we would be dangerous.
Sissoko pss off to a “bigger club”.
    Williamson? words fail

  • NottsToon

Brownale69 It was exactly as I expected, gutless.
