Does 2015 Premier League table prove no new manager equals disaster?

Having a look at the 2015 Premier League table isn’t for faint-hearted Newcastle fans.

The calendar year results coincide with John Carver taking over team affairs and he must be really grateful for Queens Park Rangers keeping him and his players off rock bottom.

All teams have played 14 matches starting January 1, apart from those marked with 13 after their name who have played a game less.

Number of points before each club:

33 Arsenal (13)

30 Chelsea (13)

29 Man Utd

29 Liverpool (13)

26 Palace

26 Spurs

23 Southampton

21 Man City

21 Stoke

20 Everton

19 West Brom

19 Swansea

15 Leicester (13)

12 West Ham

12 Hull (13)

11 Villa

10 Burnley

9 Sunderland (13)

9 Newcastle

You can’t help but wonder if it more coincidence that the two clubs at the bottom of this 2015 Premier League table are the pair who failed to bring in a new manager from outside.

Chris Ramsey getting the job at QPR until the end of the season after being promoted from within, the same as has happened at Newcastle and John Carver.

A recipe for disaster?
