The goals that sent North Shields to Wembley – Video special

North Shields are on their way to Wembley to face Glossop North End in the FA Vase final.

Holding a one goal lead after the first leg at Highworth Town, North Shields won 2-0 on Saturday in front of the their own fans, thanks to goals from Gaz Bainbridge and Dean Holmes.

To keep up to date with the ticket and travel situation for the final you can check www.northshieldsfc.co.uk or follow on Twitter @NorthShieldsFC

Recent years have now seen Whitley Bay, Bishop Auckland, Gateshead, North Shields and even the mackems(!) make it to Wembley…

At the moment, North Shields FC’s Wembley appearance clashes with Newcastle’s home match with West Brom, I imagine a fair few season ticket holders will fancy a trip to the capital for potential silverware and excitement rather than more depressing stuff at St. James’ Park.

Enjoy the video footage below: goals, highlights and great crowd scenes as the North Shields players and fans realise a dream ending to their season. There are also interviews post-match, including one with Supermac who is President of North Shields FC.

(If you only want to see the goals then go to 7.15 and 9.10 – though watching from 8.55 is advisable for the second goal as there is a classic miskick from the Highworth keeper in the build-up)
