Newcastle loan player can’t prevent more boos at Rangers

Newcastle loan player Haris Vuckic launched a new era at Rangers.

With the news earlier in the day that Mike Ashley’s men Derek Llambias and Barry Leach had been suspended, giving added impetus, Ibrox welcomed its biggest crowd (35,018) since the opening day of the season.

However, it looks like it will prove an easier task to fill the terraces as compared to the opposition net, as Rangers failed to grab what would have been only their second win since January 3rd.

A poor game saw Haris Vuckic as the only bright spot and he grabbed what looked the winning goal on 77 minutes, only for Queen of the South to equalise with only four minutes of the match remaining.

Vuckic marred his man of the match performance with a frustrated elbow into the face of one of the visiting players, which luckily the referee didn’t see.

The match ended in a limp 1-1 draw and boos accompanied the final whistle, though this time they were reserved for those on the pitch, not the people entrusted with running their club.

Meanwhile, the other four Newcastle loan players were conspicuous by their absence and not even named amongst the eighteen players on duty tonight, almost a match for Facundo Ferreyra at Newcastle who today declared that he was hoping for an extended stay at St. James’ Park.
