The latest player Newcastle United are being linked with for a summer move, is Morgan Fox.

The 21 year old left-back has been getting rave reviews for his Championship performances in recent months.

The Charlton defender has made 25 league appearances this season and is yet another young player produced from the Charlton production line.

Newcastle are now regularly being linked with British players appearing in the Championship and the signings of Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles last summer, may indicate that this a direction United are going to head in as they look at value for money signings closer to home.

Only yesterday, two other Charlton youngsters, Joe Gomez and Jordan Cousins, were claimed to have been regularly watched by Newcastle.

Now today we can add Morgan Fox to that list, with former Sky Sports journalist Graeme Bailey, who now works for goal.com, reporting that along with Villa and West Ham, Newcastle have been scouting the Welsh Under 21 international.

The departure of Davide Santon means that United need at least one left-back in the summer, though that is simply just one on a growing list of players Newcastle need to get anywhere near the squad strength needed.

Otherwise we will simply see more chaos, as whoever is manager/head coach attempts to get through yet another season with a squad that is short on numbers.

More likely to sign Ruel again…

Why are we continually being linked with LB’s?

Surely we should be looking at established CBs,Wingers/AM and FWs?

Jammin1602 Dummett is going to be moved into the middle & that leaves Haidara who isn’t good enough for the premier league

  • PeterRobson

We´ve got more chance of signing Megan Fox !!!!

  • John Bainbridge

Megan Fox would sell more shirts. Probably.

mentalman Jammin1602  Not good enough is a little strongI feel. The whole team has been woefully inconsistent this season, but I believe he will come good with the right guidance. So instead of another young player, perhaps a more experienced LB would be even more beneficial.

I just think the team needs much more urgent strengthening elsewhere…

Reported to be interested by who? More anonymous crap by reporters who cant be bothered to get real stories

  • mentalman

Haidara has shown he’s defensively poor and provides very little in attack. I would say he would make a better midfielder but he seems incapable or unwilling to put a cross in to the box.
LB is one of many positions which needs strengthened
