John Carver has stated that Newcastle started ‘brightly’ at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

United had a goalmouth scramble with a Williamson effort blocked on the line, possibly by an arm.

However, this is really clutching at straws as Newcastle were terrible for the next 89 minutes….:

“Even at 11 v 11 we were second best, we started brightly and had a chance of a penalty but we don’t get those so that is no surprise.

“We had our best chances when we went to down to 10 men and the loss of Fabricio Coloccini for the next three games is even more disappointing.

Studying angles;

“I’ve looked at it from four or five angles and I am not totally convinced.

“The reaction from the Everton players told me that it was something serious but when I have looked at it I wasn’t convinced.”

    Absolutely rubbish.

  • magpie9

    Carver is a comedian

  • amacdee

“When I looked at both sides it looked
like one side was determined to win today because they knew they were
under pressure, being so close to the relegation zone and the other team
looked as if they were sitting mid-table and going through the
    motions,” said Carver.

As I’ve said before a manager has to be able to motivate players in his charge. If he cannot perform that basic function he’s of no use to a football club !

  • Bornunderabigbluestar

Packed in the season in january, all very predictable.
Well 35 points is not going to be enough, so JC, any bright ideas on how to pick up a point or two before june?

  • Brown Bottle

When you start a game with less than half a team what do you expect. Gouffran, Ameobi, Obertan, Williamson, Riviere and Taylor are, simply, dogshyt. Always have been and always will be.

So Mr Carver you have quite rightly hung Papiss out to dry for his unprofessional ism against Manure and criticised him.
However you do not or will not do the same for Colo who to me has let the team down badly again with his unprofessional behaviour.
If you had anything about you John you would immediately strip him of the captaincy and then walk away as you clearly do not have the gumption or ability to even slightly motivate a team who is currently on Easy Street, thinking they are safe. You clearly picked the wrong team (again) and refuse to shake it up regardless of performance or attitude. Unless things change we will not get near 40 points and so will rely on 3 other teams falling below that mark. However with the possible exception of the scum down the road and us everyone else is fighting to survive. If you cannot see that John you are so out of your depth
    Over to you Mr Carver

  • Porciestreet

Why is it that everyone elses bad season takes off when they play Newcastle . Strange that init.

  • Porciestreet

    Big Al 1967
Dead right Al, but your talkin to a tree stump I’m afraid.

  • Jarra MIck

As I keep saying we are getting worse and worse. Next season we won’t be sitting safe-ish in March we will be near the bottom. Mark my words under ashley this downward spiral will continue until we get relegated. The manager’s position is a smokescreen, it doesn’t matter who we have as long as Ashley is in charge.

  • Adrian Phillips

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, Carver is predictable, on and off the pitch.

  • toon tony

He’s gonna get the job, mark my words. The FCB is killing this club we all love. Turn up the abuse get this scumbag out of OUR club. HTL.

  • Peaco

    Relegation fodder next year init.

  • Big Al 1967

Porciestreet Big Al 1967 Reckon the tree stump would do better. More mobile than our centre half pairing anyway

  • DownUnderMag

Well as long as we started brightly John, that’s “not too bad for this league” now is it?  Too bad that Everton were in their little crisis bubble, too bad that our captain essentially just looked like he’d had enough and wanted an early bath, too bad that on current form we are sure candidates for relegation next season.

But I guess as long as Carver keeps nodding and smiling and saying the right things along the company PR line then he will most likely be in with a shout of the full time job come the summer.  I mean where else is Ashley going to find someone so desperate for the job that they will no doubt work for next to nothing and will always oblige with company say-so.  As long as it doesn’t cost The Fat Cat anything is wages then he won’t care if the club are on the verge of relegation, he will no doubt be ready to sell up by then anyway.

  • Andrew Johnson

It wad just the following 89 mi utes where they went wrong

  • Stonesy

Next year? Are you sure this ten point gap will see us through this year, cos I’m not.

  • Sickandtiredstill

1957 Amazing like. When he had the chance of giving an input as to what was needed in January, he said he was happy with what he had and no signings were needed.
Now he wants to play the injury card, when any supporter with an ounce of brain cells knew what was needed and has been needed for almost 2 seasons now. Isn’t he meant to be the Pro here?
Forget the bollix from the regime supporters. This is Ashley’s doing, Ashley’s fault, and a Club full of his cronies has got us to this stage, JC included.
The away support today started the anti Ashley chants once again and that should be taken up by all supporters at the Arsenal match. Enough has to be enough.
Shame the FCB into spending money because those profits are doing the football team and the Club no good otherwise.

  • Sickandtiredstill

Big Al 1967 Too true. 10 days to get his team sorted, and he rolled out another Pardew side.
4-2-3-1 will be written on the NUFC headstone – the time we forgot how to attack or score.
    Thanks, Alan and John.

  • magpie9

Its o.k. to say we should have signed someone even if fatty gave the cash but who in their right mind would come here to play when they openly say they call ambition finishing 10th don’t want a cup run & cant compete with Swansea etc. for wages or transfer fees? No player these days has any loyalty to any team after all he is a pro player with a very limited earning career & it is his duty to get as much as possible. When fatty comes along & offers discount wages & days off on cup days it must take a player all of 2 seconds after he stops laughing to chose another team’ This tactic has caught up to him this year & it will get worse as the couple of decent players we have will be off & we will be left with over the hill loans, crocked failures & a few pound shop cheapies. If it takes relegation to send fatty back south Im afraid to say I would take it as now it gives me no pleasure at all following this team. Arsenal next, watch the utter rubbish that is going to be spouted by Carver & co, anyone who goes to game should have free admittance. The nightmare of Obertan, Goufran, Ameobi being starters will make the memories of Shearer, Ferdinand & Ginola  all the more painful. What the hell have we got to do to get rid of this money grabbing vile man?

  • nufcslf

magpie9 Empty ground would go a thousand miles. Never will happen so going down would probably be the next best thing. Lost all of my passion thanks to fatty and only want one loss after the other for this regime.

  • nufcslf

    Sickandtiredstill 1957 Hear, hear.

  • nufcslf

amacdee Totally agree, but do find it very sad that not one of 11 professional footballers put out to do their job only could motivate themselves. Even the rotten ones have more money than sense. Shows the real state of not only Shite Direct United but football in general.

  • nufcslf

    amacdee Oooops!!!! could not motivate.

  • Steve1221

A Pardew side would have been more organised and put up a bit of fight

  • toon tony

    You mean Crystal Palace.

  • AP69

Yep like the 20 odd games we were humped by three or more goals under the Great Pardew
It’s been a downward spiral since the lucky 5th finish
    RIP Newcastle United
It’s Sports Direct United now and friend of the stars Big Johny Carver is the new mouthpiece
    Get out of our club
