They might know the square root of 8,723,452, the capital of Swaziland and many other semi-useless facts, but I’m not convinced that the Eggheads know much about football.
To those of you who weren’t aware, in 2003 the BBC put a group of people together who had won other quiz shows and/or who were dead clever, then challenged the public to beat them in a quiz show.
This week the Eggheads are the challengers to Mark Lawrenson on BBC Sport, trying to predict the outcome to this weekend’s Premier League matches.
Our old mate Lawro hasn’t posted his predictions yet but the Eggheaded challengers have presented the following predictions so far:
Man City 0 West Brom 0
Newcastle 1 Arsenal 0
Tottenham 3 Leicester 0
West Ham 2 Sunderland 0
Liverpool 1 Man Utd 3
Hull 0 Chelsea 1
When it came to the Newcastle match they commented:
“Think Arsenal will find it difficult there, going to go for a home win, Newcastle winning one nil.”
You heard it here/there first…
