The Newcastle v Arsenal team was guaranteed at least one change, with Fabricio Coloccini losing his appeal against the three match ban picked up at Everton.

Much talk of John Carver having only 13 fit and available senior outfield players.

He has gone with this Newcastle United line up:

Krul, Ryan Taylor, Janmaat, Williamson, Colback, Anita, Sissoko, Gouffran, Ameobi, Cabella, Perez

Whilst on the bench:

Elliot, Satka, Kemen, Jonas, Riviere, Obertan, Armstrong

NUFCTheMag reaping what fatty pardew and charnley have down. Anyone still think we are totally safe. I am worried

  • Geordiedoonsoot

NUFCTheMag don’t think he had much choice

  • stephen_miller

NUFCTheMag its a joke! Whilst Carver isn’t the man for the job, this isn’t his fault. Ashley, his puppy Charnley, pardew & carr to blame

  • Alsteads

COME ON LADS!!!! Fxxing COME ON!!!! My heart 1-0 we’ll deserved, backs to the wall, no one seem it coming win!!! … head……. Well let’s not go there. I’m fxxxing miles away lads but COME ON!!!

  • amacdee

@Geordiedoonsoot He had a choice not to put Goof in the central attacking midfield spot. I would have given Cabella that spot and left Goof to wander around aimlessly on the touchline.

  • amacdee

So the surprise up Carvers sleeve is ?????????

  • Corkyjohn

Well I need the gunners to score another 1, 3 or 4 goals to win my bet…..Carver you’ve surprised us

  • PhilYare

amacdee he had the choice ages ago to say the squad is awful and desperately needs new blood. unless his role at the club has always been to say nowt

  • Polarboy

@stephen_miller NUFCTheMag Don’t see how it’s Carr’s fault, he can only recommend a list of players. It’s then up to Ashley to open his wallet and for Charnley to get them. We have seen the type of quality that Carr is capable of picking out, as far as I am concerned the buck starts and stops with Ashley as far as recruitment goes, or lack thereof.

  • PhilYare

amacdee too lose 0-4 and say we played well in stages. then we can go home and look forward to match of the day

  • amacdee

Maybe Fatman went into the dressing room at HT and doubled the bonus for finishing tenth ?

  • mrkgw

And so thats Palace above us and we slip a further place. Worrying times. Carver is NOT the man for the job!

  • SGM

mrkgw Step forward all the muppets who said Pardew was “tactically inept”.who “hasn’t got a clue” called him a “moron”, “pleb”, “clown”. you got it wrong

  • mrkgw

Agreed and on some occassions, at times of poor resultsI was one of them. Despite that, I did generally like him and was never insulting in terms of comment (at least not that I recall), in the end being pleased that he turned things around. I would have him as our Manager anytime over Charver.

  • LeazesEnder

SGM mrkgw Just because Carver is worse it doesn’t mean that Pardew is astute…

He must have been trying for the sack when he was here!

  • mrkgw

LeazesEnder, it does make you wonder as Palace appear relatively formidable at the moment – something that Newcastle havent been in many a year. Pardew mustn’t have been happy working under Ashley. Why would be with stringent restrictions on spending. On another note, I am beginning to feel that Carr is slightly overrated. Yes, we have seen Cabaye, Sissoko and a couple of others but are they all so much better than other clubs seem to acquire? Not so sure.

  • toon tony

Yes,bring Pardew back. …because he was doing really really well wasn’t he. NOT.
