Derek Llambias and Barry Leach have been voted off the Rangers board.

The Financial Times have reported that at today’s EGM, Mike Ashley and his allies have been outvoted.

Recent days have seen the resignation of Directors David Somers and James Easdale in advance of today’s key meeting forced by rebel shareholder Dave King.

Now Llambias and Leach have followed.

However, with the terms of Mike Ashley’s loan allowing him to nominate two Directors, we await to see what his next move will be…

  • mickrj19761

I’ve seen a lot of people comparing Rangers and Newcastle regarding Ashleys involvement saying “Look at what’s happened at Rangers! They stand up to him and get things done! If Newcastle fans do the same…”

The difference being, Mike Ashley only has commercial rights, £10m loan and 8% ownership. He owns Newcastle outright. Nothing will stop him making money from Rangers regardless of how much he now owns. It MAY stop him using Rangers how he sees fit but he can still put 2 people on the board.

Regardless of club statements I can’t see Ashley leaving any time soon, not next year, not the year after… Honestly, he is here to stay and unless there is a change in laws regarding club ownership I can’t see anything changing for the better.

  • LeazesEnder

mickrj19761 Absolutely…. he’s parked another tank on another lawn.

  • Greggy164

These 2 should hire a 7 seater people carrier and pick up your 5 players on the way back home. Im sure there will be 1 driving license amongst them.

Whats the chances of Llambias back at Newcastle?

  • Sickandtiredstill

LeazesEnder mickrj19761 Lets hope the financial audit, if it takes place, results in a few anti tank mines!

  • Greggy164

LeazesEnder mickrj19761  Do you mean our lawn here in Glasgow?

His 2 henchmen have been chased. Mr King has stated that at this point he doesnt know enough to comment on SDs loans. He said he will look at it once L and L are gone. The money is there to pay Ashley off if need be.

Ashley has been defeated. Glasgow said no. Llambias and Leach have got to go!!!!

Del boy. You said you wouldnt be chased from here. Hows that working out for you?

  • Greggy164

    Sickandtiredstill LeazesEnder mickrj19761
His tanks are in the sights of an Apache Attack helicopter. Soon they will be burning wrecks. Smoke and ashes hahaha

  • gazchampion

    Greggy164 Sickandtiredstill LeazesEnder mickrj19761 A helicopter crash… now there’s a thought! hope fatman’s in it!!

  • Chemical Dave

Not so fast greggers, don’t write the fat leech off just yet….

  • Chemical Dave

Some of our lobotomized fans will probably drive up to collect them

  • No Brainer

Greggy164 Well now that you’ve got the crooks that stuffed you back on the board its years more pain for the right wing chelsea fans. Any chance you can take yourself back off to Rangers sites now, you have what you want.

Only in glasgow can a collective that was getting shafted by its staff at the expense of its fans campaign against those who have given them interest free loans, players that cost them absolutely nowt. In order to get a convicted fraudster who was on the board leading the club when it was shafting them back on to the board.

    Ally , Ally FFS Ally

  • Greggy164

Chemical Dave  Its over. If its in Rangers best interests to use Ashleys loan then thats what King will do. If its in Rangers best interest to pay loans back the money is there. Easy

Dave. Its party time here. Ashley can do what he likes. He wont ever become our owner. Once new board is in place the retail contracts will be scrutinised. If they are shown to be suspect then they will be ripped up. If they are watertight then no-one will buy any of it. He will make some money from us but nothing like he thought he would.

  • Greggy164

No Brainer Greggy164  He nay be a crook but he is our crook. BJK

  • Greggy164

No Brainer Greggy164  Why you even replying to me anyway? Fud.

You spat the dummy the last time I was on here. You went down in my estimation!!!!

  • No Brainer

Greggy164 Chemical Dave I think you need to understand that MA whether we you or his granny likes it will do what he wants. If its in his interest he will pull the loan, the players and be an irksome investor until he sells.

I thoroughly understand your desire to have a better ownership but Dave King isn’t the way he doesn’t have the money its borrowed. It looks more like the Sunderland situation with the irish group they will buy cheap as they have done with the club value at 20-35 million in recent months get it back in to the top division. Then sell to a single owner for about 80-100 stating he is the one to take the club to the next level, boll ox. leaving the minority fans forced to sell their shares.

    The shambles isn’t over

  • No Brainer

Greggy164 No Brainer Never spat the dummy pal i went to milan to watch celtic play

  • Greggy164

No Brainer Greggy164 Chemical Dave  I would like nothing more than for him to pull the loan. The 5 players are as well to join Llambias heading for the exit. Dont think that his loans, money and players, are helping us in any way.

  • Greggy164

No Brainer Greggy164  Hahahahahaha. Good yin.

Do you think Im wired to the moon. Ill dive in, 2 feet,

When I asked if you were hanging with the lad from Sunderland your response was shocking. You did spit dummy

  • Greggy164

No Brainer Greggy164  What about Llambias turning up in Glasgow with 2 bodyguards? haha magic

  • Adam_B

This is really tremendous news. Whatever the long term implications for Newcastle of for Rangers, it is clear today that people who love and care for Rangers are simply not prepared to have this parasite turn their football club into a personal money-making operation at the cost of anything sporting, relevant for football or in line with this club’s tremendous history. Well done everyone in Glasgow (and Newcastle) for helping to make this happen. Mr Ashley may even start to get the message that his anti-football ambitions are not going to be tolerated any longer. Who knows, maybe Newcastle fans may start to wake up and realise they are not helpless in this situation. This is a great day for football in these countries.

  • Toon69

Greggy164 No Brainer Chemical Dave Is that actually King replying to these responses, as it sounds like him,… Ashleys money hasn’t helped in any way, apart from stopping you going into administartion again & not being able to pay the players you have, so if you’re not King, then as a sickafed, you’re being suckered into more misery, good luck!

  • Greggy164

    Adam_B  Good on ye Adam.

  • No Brainer

Greggy164 No Brainer NO as my wife works with victims of child sexual abuse knowing many of their stories I found you joke of that highly offensive as i am sure others did too.
You did not respond after i replied to you and i believed you had checked yourself, it’s scary that you are such an individual you believe you can pick that up again here are you sick in the head or something.

  • mickrj19761

Greggy164 No Brainer Chemical Dave You are aware that Ashley is within his rights to appoint 2 replacements for Llambias and Leach, aren’t you?

  • Greggy164

No Brainer Greggy164  Wow. I work in a busy A/E dept. Does that mean I cant ever have fun. I work with victims of accidents, violence and self harm/abuse on a daily basis.

If your wife works with vunerable people she shouldnt be telling you anything about them. There is patient confidentiality.

  • Greggy164

mickrj19761 Greggy164 No Brainer Chemical Dave

    Theyll be chased as well!!!!

  • Chemical Dave

He offers far more on here than you do soft length.

  • Chemical Dave

Nice Mr Ashley saving rangers from administration? Its nice to be nice isn’t it ?

  • Greggy164

Chemical Dave  Hahahahaha. He is a good man. I cant wait till he comes and sits amongst us at Ibrox

  • Greggy164

Chemical Dave  Dont know what that means

  • mickrj19761

Greggy164 mickrj19761 No Brainer Chemical Dave I like your optimism… The problem is, Mike Ashley may be a sweaty, obnoxious, hateful human being with no thoughts outside his wallet, but he’s far from Naiive when it comes to money matters, especially his own.

He listens to nobody that has anything to say but what he wants to hear. He has the financial clout to bulldoze his way into places regardless of laws. If anyone thinks he went into Rangers without knowing that there could be an objection to the Two Clubs One Owner ruling, then they are blind.

Mike Ashley knows exactly what he’s doing and unfortunately for bothe sets of fans, north and south of the border, it can only mean a lot of heartache and soulless football clubs

  • Greggy164

mickrj19761 Greggy164 No Brainer Chemical Dave  Mick. Come on. Are you trying to piss on our parade? If he wanted he could buy us outright. I dont think it is in the mans makeup to do that. He tried to get us for very little. We have said no. He and his 2 pals have been sent packing. King and co have the funds in place to pay him back if thats whats got to be done. Dont compare Glasgow to Newcastle. No-one will bully Glasgow. He will make some money from us but, like Ive said earlier, nothing like he hoped he would.

  • Greggy164

1957  They have asked for £290-000 between them. They were refused. Theres plenty came and went. Most of them given a pile on the way out the door. It would be more of a shock if these 2 werent wade in.

  • Greggy164

Retail (RRL) agreed with Greene for 1.5 million loan which was repayable on sales. Already repaid.
3 million in Ashley loans, repaid by SD.
Shares – bought from other investors, not from the market, thereby contributing nothing to the Club.

75% retail. Advertising rights. Security on assets. Brand. And for not a single penny of his own money.

  • Greggy164

Sickandtiredstill No Brainer Greggy164  Mr Somers has said that the SD contracts are “actionable”. Until they have been scrutinised its pure speculation

  • Sickandtiredstill

    Greggy164 Sickandtiredstill No Brainer

The infamous (now resigned) Somers email –

“Why have you changed yesterday’s deal? Particularly for a particularly stupid alternative.

“Meanwhile I have received a formal proposal for a deal from Dave King and my board are clamouring for a board call to discuss it and no doubt approve it. A board on which James and I are in a minority.

“Dave King’s proposal includes board seats, which means Sandy, James and I will not survive on this board very much longer. Yes, you can vote them off at the next AGM but they can do a great deal of damage before then.

“It we are going down this route because you guys are pratting about, then even I will be voting to put out a stock exchange announcement that we are terminating Sports Directs (sic) contract; even though it is one of the last board meetings Sandy and I attend.

“I am very angry about this total stupidity.”

  • Michael Teasdale

I would offer congratulations to the Rangers fans…but it sounds as though he will receive a massive payoff for his short stint.
He is a 21st century snake-oil salesman who should be barred from having anything to do with a football club.

  • Sickandtiredstill

mickrj19761 Greggy164 No Brainer @Chemical Dave I think he went into Rangers completely without knowing of the ruling. Football is certainly not his strong point.

That’s why his loans stopped (and were repaid) and SD took that over. That followed the RST letter to the SFA in early November.

I don’t believe he expected any of this when he started plotting back in 2011 (with Whyte) or when striking onerous deals with Greene in 2012. Naming rights to Ibrox for 1 quid? Man, that should sum up how shady the whole thing has been.

Eagerly awaiting an audit and what it sheds light on.

  • Mark Brooker

Hang on a minute please, tell me if im wrong but does Ashley still control the merchandise at Rangers. That is what he has wanted all along and for King to buy that back would cost more in compensation to Ashley than he or his friends have. How does this work its getting complicated.

  • Ibrox Bear

Llambias and Leech still hold non executive positions at Rangers they asked King for £300,000 on Wednesday and they would retire  without holding the EGM but King refused  to give them anything, and now they can  write on their CV that  he  Llambias was voted out as CO of Rangers  with  a vote of 85% after just 4 month.  and Leech was voted out after just a couple of month.  We have alot of work in front of us but with King and co working in our clubs best interest we will survive. The fans can´t wait to get  back and just consentrate on football. I wish Newcastle United all the best.

  • Chemical Dave

Thanks but if you call back in twelve months you’re almost certain to find nothing has changed down here.

  • BillyfromConsett

So now Rangers have a chairman whose been done for tax evasion in South Africa, where he still lives?
He has announced the club needs £20m but hasn’t stated that he’s providing that cash.
And Ashley is taking the profits from their retail arm.
That’s great news for their club??

  • No Brainer

It makes sense a 10%interest ob his rangers loan would cost a million quid but his retail incone is aroubd 350k tge rangers fans have been very naive

  • Ibrox Bear

    BillyfromConsett
The days of some Sugar Daddy coming to the rescue is over,  Rangers fans know this and one bright light that has come out of this shambles is the Fan ownership oranisations  Rangers First, with over 13,000 member paying into it every month and Rangers Suppor trust with about 7,000 members buying shares and making our own shirts because they will never buy from SD unless our new board come to a agreement were Rangers FC also profit

  • Sickandtiredstill

No Brainer What complete and utter nonsense from you again. JJB were paying Rangers a minimum of 3 million a season for the retail royalties The last full year of that, Rangers received 3.8 million.
Fatty of course tore up that deal. His new deal was a 1.5 million ‘advance’ from sales of the newly created RRL of which he (SD) had 49% at that time. The advance was ‘reclaimed’ within a year.
So, in return for getting 50% less income (now 75%), C Greene signed away Rangers retail operation effectively for nothing, and Ibrox naming rights (for 1 quid).
Rangers fans Naive??? Take a look in the mirror and stop peddling complete untruths..

  • Greggy164

BillyfromConsett  Billy. With a name like that you should know better

  • Greggy164

Sickandtiredstill No Brainer  Sick. Are you questioning NoBrains integrity?  NoBrains speaks with forked tongue?

  • Greggy164

Chemical Dave  Dave I  really hope you are wrong. With the money now involved in EPL it limits the number of people who can buy your club. I dont know enough about business and shares, etc but in Glasgow the fans groups have all chipped in and tried to buy as many shares as they can. I dont know if you can buy shares in Newcastle. I suspect you can. Doing that along with boycotts, walk-outs and demonstrations will keep putting pressure on Ashley. Become a problem for him. Stop him going to your games. If you can try put somebody on the board through buying shares. You need to turn the heat up. Hes getting it far too easy

  • Sickandtiredstill

Greggy164 Chemical Dave Greggy, we can’t buy any here. Fatty is the only shareholder.

  • Greggy164

Sickandtiredstill Greggy164 @Chemical Dave Sorry to hear that. As you have probably noticed I was all for causing Ashley as many problems as possible.
At what point will Newcastle fans think “enough is enough” and get their act together?

  • Sickandtiredstill

Greggy164 Sickandtiredstill Let’s hope we get another SD initiated friendly then.

Love to see that happen again now, and we can both (clubs) show our love for the Fat Man!

I have a sneaking suspicion we’ll never see that fixture again
    ;-)
