Who do you think will be in the Newcastle team v Aston Villa at St. James’ Park tomorrow?

Against Manchester City, John Carver only went with one negative change to his team, bringing in Vurnon Anita for the injured Remy Cabella.

Tomorrow: Siem de Jong, Rob Elliot, Jack Colback, Rolando Aarons, Facundo Ferreyra, Paul Dummett, Steven Taylor, Cheick Tiote and Rob Elliot are all expected to be missing, whether through injury, suspension or in the cases of Aarons and Ferreyra, who knows?

So I predict the line-up below, though this is what I think John Carver will select and not my own first eleven.

To create the image above I used our new feature, the NUFC team selector.

You can do the same by following the simple instructions HERE and then there are a number of great options where you can then also share your team via Twitter (include @nufcthemag in your tweet and we will share some of them with our 13k+ followers) , or you can share the selector on Facebook with friends, family and the rest of the black and white world. Alternatively, simply downloading the team image to the device you are using

When using the NUFC team selector you simply click on what team formation (4-3-3, 4-4-2 etc) you want, then click each position on the pitch and choose from the Newcastle United squad.

Go to the NUFC team selector now and choose and share your Newcastle team v  Aston Villa.

Before every match, simply go to the menu at the top of this screen and click features, then on the drop down list click NUFC Team Selector and choose your team for every match.

there’s no way I can find a place for our friend Gouffran, but have to use Obertan!!!

  • Seventy2

A defensive midfield three to provide security across the width of the pitch, with Sissoko linking with two forwards that can exploit any available space in the middle or on the wings. The forwards could easily also be Riviere and/or Perez.

This is the shape that we should be playing in most of our matches (with Siem behind the forwards) and unfortunately was not used in the last match, but against Villa it can be easily established and bedded in for the more difficult games ahead.

As Graham, but Raylor for Goufran.

Although totally disillusioned and almost deadened to the humiliation this regime seem hell bent on putting us through, I look at these slightly different versions of an appalling team with no backbone or leadership and it feels like I’m intruding on a group of people discussing the finer details of a suicide pact. I’ll say the unthinkable (might have done that already!) – I’d take a draw, to maintain the gap.

Nicely set up for another home defeat and 50,000 sheep that would be sadly better of going shopping with the wife and or significant other until fatty is no more.

Seventy anyone who picks Anita obviously has a complete lack of understanding about what makes a modern footballer.
