After a mind numbing 41 minutes of non-entertainment/football, Papiss Cisse provided the uplifting moment.

A brilliant run by Daryl Janmaat down the right, was then followed by a cross of similar quality.

Papiss Cisse was the only possible goal scorer and the cross picked him out perfectly, with the Senegal striker’s header matching Janmaat’s assist.

Good goal, but watch the Palace no. 2 – always watching and tracking Cabella. Good defending – not yet Pardewed.

Top quality cross from Janmaat getting behind the defender,
and you won’t see a better struck, standing header than that one, for a long
    time.

A lex            He just kept the line, and made sure he was goalside of
Cabella who was moving up…what else would you expect him to do in the
circumstances?…the other 2 on Pappiss were nowhere near him…obviously Pardew
had told them beforehand that we weren’t dangerous from crosses!!

wor monga A lex I’m not expecting anything else, simply pointing out that is was a job well done as far as defending goes. Always keeping an eye on ‘your’ attacker is fundamental, and it surprises me how often such simplicity is exposed in the EPL.
Funny point, though, about Pardew telling them we weren’t dangerous from crosses. Even funnier was when, in his after-match interview, Pardew said that Newcastle were “a great defensive unit”. Sorry, but I must have missed that one somewhere down the line.

wor monga I agree, that was one of the best headers I have ever seen. More superb quality from Cisse!
