I am in my early twenties and a season ticket holder for almost 6 years.

I am as passionate as any Newcastle United fan out there but I made my decision to stand firm and stop attending the matches – a call that has been urged by possibly hundreds of fans but no one seems to take any action.

(To feature like Syed, send in your articles for our website to [email protected])

The question I put to you is:

Are you satisfied to be part of the circus of the ownership at our club?

Are you happy to be part of the joke?

The motto in football is one man is never bigger than any club, so why are we content to go to all the matches, expecting no football style, no management.

My plea to everyone is  stop going to the games. Stand up for this beautiful club.

Fight Ashley and his Wolfpack out of this city.

Stop openly putting money into his pocket. Respect yourself first then respect your club.

Some action is needed and it’s up to you to man up and take it.

Otherwise I’m sorry to say you are just a big joke part of the joker family, with Ashley being the man of the house.

TeamToon I am not happy to be part of the joke.

  • mentalman

The problem is there’s nobody to organise anything, previous protests have been farcical and played into the media and managements hands

  • partworntyres

the mackems should be suicidal -we are keeping them going!

  • GToon

I think the best thing to do is go to the game but give Ashley loads of abuse and take a few banners too, especially to away games. The TV always picks them up. You can still support the players on the pitch but let Ashley know what you think at the same time. If the gates fall he will simply offer more deals to entice new supporters who think £5 is good value for a game. It’s not like he actually relies on match day revenue anyway. The TV windfall has seen to that. I get your point though.

  • Brownale69

49-50k next game with Wonga shirts on so what will change?

  • stevennufc

everyone who gives money to ashley is part of the joke!!…..and who”s laughing the loudest!…..was”nt it lambias who said…..”you dont know how fu**ing horrible we can be”……i think we do!

  • Jamiekgordon

I’m sick of Newcastle United fans moaning if you don’t like it don’t go to the games it’s simple…. No one forces you to buy the kit or a ticket etc NOTHING WILL CHANGE UNDER ASHLEY SO ACCEPT IT AND STOP MOANING ABOUT THE SAME THING EVERY WEEK ITS BORING.
As long as we finish above the relegation zone the club is happy that’s the fact. Why not go and watch your local lower league team on a Saturday?

  • killyted

WE all know what cashleys plans are ////// Jamie G  has put it in a nut shell, gateshead north shields play good football.Their chairman don’t try to rip your eye teeth out

  • Blue Star Club

Good point. Every fan will choose what they want to do. Personally I have chosen to chuck in my season ticket and stop going after 50 years. Those fans who choose to attend, fair play to them and if they’re serious in their belief that Ashley is destroying our club then songs/banners degrading him and especially attacking his one love Sports Direct will make him as uncomfortable as we are supporting a zombie club

  • Sickandtiredstill

I agree with the sentiment but not the action. I continue to believe that publicity is Ashley’s Kryptonite – it hurts him. Rangers fiasco is hurting him. Upcoming SFA and Parliamentary hearings will force him into the public eye where he hates to be.
Use the crowd against him one again. Use tv coverage against him. He’s tried to sell the club 3 times in the past because of that and we can do so again. Sports Direct shareholders including city investors pay much attention to all this.
‘Je Suis NUFC’ This is our club. WE are NUFC, not him. Those who tell people to stop whingeing are as much part of the problem as Ashley.

  • PhilYare

Sickandtiredstill it doesn’t work mate! never has never will! stop going!

  • PhilYare

well done for making a stance, if more people followed your example then we might have been out of this nightmare

I really don’t get this passive behaviour, its only benefits MA

  • Sickandtiredstill

PhilYare Sickandtiredstill It worked before, he just couldn’t find a buyer.

  • PhilYare

Brownale69 the wonga patches should be ripped off, burnt and tossed on the pitch

  • Bills frollocks

Don’t go to the games you fools. It’s the only way. Look at him laughing. What’s he laughing at?. You lot who keep going to games. Yes, he’s laughing at you lot. Especially the ones with the WONGA shirts on. A double whammy for him. Wake up man.

  • Cornflake

They seem to not be able to help themselves.  I’m one who doesn’t spend a dime (easier being overseas) and buys kits without ‘wonga’ plastered on the front.  However, despite all the backlash of ‘wonga’ when I look on tv, I can’t believe how many people bought those kits.
Two years in a row, where if a little ambition we could have challenged at least for a Europe spot.  Two years in a row, the team has proved where they want to be, and it’s right where we are.
Why do the fans put out so much for their squad, when from the top to the bottom, this is what they feel you deserve.

  • howaymebonnylads

So 6 years a season ticket holder suggests all you know is Mike Ashley.  There are blokes who have been ticket holders a lot longer than that, seen a lot worse, been exposed to the politics of NUFC for more than just this generation.  While I understand the sentiment the reality is that I would argue of the 50k who go to the match only a minority bother reading the opinions of those on social media, hence the lack of action…even if nobody went the ludicrous sums of money being generated by TV deals will keep Ashley here longer than even I would like to think.  I’ll be amazed if the Rangers thing is more interesting to him when the money north of the border is peanuts in comparison.  It won’t be long until it’s 50 years without a trophy and I don’t see any reason why that will change

  • Greggy164

howaymebonnylads  Is there a trophy room in St James with nothing in it?

  • Toon Magpie

howaymebonnylads while I respect anyone’s view to go or not to go, just do what you have to do. I understand there are people who want to continue to fund Ashley’s lifestyle, yes he would survive just on TV deals but the empty stadium would tell him we don’t support him and the rest of the world and could he survive the media onslaught of this.

  • Toon Magpie

    Sickandtiredstill i am not french.

  • Sickandtiredstill

howaymebonnylads His only interest in Rangers is for what he already has – the retail and advertising rights. He obviously knows there is profit in that, as there are here. He moved in on another weak business and snapped up the proift making section and assets as security thanks to his deal with the corrupt Charles Greene. Never mind the news now – he tied the majority of that up back in late 2012.

  • Sickandtiredstill

Toon Magpie Sickandtiredstill Your pub has a Sky package which it pays highly for. BBC pay a fee for both tv and radio coverage.
Give it all up then? Sorry, I believe we can fight back through publicity and if enough do that then tv and press coverage is the best weapon.

  • ToonTone100

It wouldn’t work – the TV money massively outweighs any attendance revenue. I doubt he’d even flinch … just revel in the extra free advertising & media coverage.

  • Sickandtiredstill

ToonTone100 I stopped going, mate. But as we all know many won’t. Been the same over all the years and through many owners, though without a shadow of doubt this one is the worst.
Some go and want to make their voices heard, along with the new breed of sheep who appear happy just to have somewhere to go on match day.
My point is that it’s better to target Ashley and SD rather than Carver.
    .
    .

  • ToonTone100

    Sickandtiredstill Agreed there mate

  • Greggy164

ToonTone100  As you have said the gate money isnt the biggest part of clubs income. The negative publicity would hurt him and SD more than losing the gate money. The games are shown worldwide. Its not a good advert for his brand if they are playing in an empty stadium. Tough thing to do. If you decide to go that road you have to do it right. Bawdeep.

  • Greggy164

Sickandtiredstill howaymebonnylads  Do you think he just wants to squeeze every penny out of Rangers? I thought he had caught Rangeritis. He let it be known that he wants to help Rangers compete with Celtic

  • magpie9

Greggy164 howaymebonnylads  Ashley rented it out as it was unused

  • magpie9

Blue Star Club  Ashley hates banners & any publicity that makes him lose face, more the merrier for next home game if mugs still insist on attending

  • SMB1982

I believe the main way to get to Mike Ashley is negative publicity of sh*t direct, e.g. Stickers, tshirts, flags etc. as how many fans are realistically going to stop going to home matches? Even if we got half empty stadium the fat b*stard could still live with that, I think he would find it hard to deal with ongoing negative publicity of sh*t direct though.

  • Sickandtiredstill

Greggy164 Sickandtiredstill howaymebonnylads I do indeed. I think he’s now learnt first hand that owning a club is different from getting the retail and advertising profits without any ownership cost.
Rangers were another massive fan base to feed upon.
Outside of us and Rangers, he has Pompey, Oldham and Sheff Weds also on retail deals.
Look back at Llambias’ statements here at Newcastle. Exactly the same. Competing with and for the top and CL again within 5 years blah blah blah.
    Hows that working out?

  • newcastle7

A pathetic article as no one wants to buy us anyway understand get a life and support the team will tell you noe despite the five nil defeat at Man City we will have over fifty thousand there Saturday roaring us on please do not ever come back as do not need you.

  • Sickandtiredstill

newcastle7 far too many are Muppets like you though. What our club needs is people not like you, willing to take anything and spouting off compete bollix. .

  • Sickandtiredstill

SMB1982 I’m onside with that. I know the argument goes both ways and I’ve already stopped going, but many won’t or can’t which we all understand.
We demonstrated against him before and he has put us up for sale 3 times because of it. That was just us.
Now he has the Rangers shyte to deal with, the SFA and Parliamentary hearings also.
Anyone and everyone still going who wants to shout about JC is better off shouting  at and about Ashley and SD.
SD are a public limited company with other shareholders, including city investors. Even they will only put up with so much negativity affecting the SD brand and possibly share price.
Thats his baby, like the club is ours. Hurt him the way he hurts us.

  • Sickandtiredstill

Jamiekgordon If you accept it, then you are part of the problem. Plain and simple.
Go and demonstrate against him, or stop going. Doing nothing is exactly that. Doing nothing.

  • Sickandtiredstill

Brownale69 Nothing, until those stop going, or in the ground they make their voices heard against him. Doing nothing is easy, but then it gives you no right at all to critiscise anything.

  • Sickandtiredstill

mentalman If no one will, then do it yourself with your mates.
Iif enough do that then it will be noticed and reported on.I t will make tv screens and it will create comment in the press and on the likes of Sky and MOTD.

  • Sickandtiredstill

How the owner feels about the people that work for him and make his profits – This is the guy some of you defend.

  • Chemical Dave

    newcastle7
‘roaring us on’ ? For a self proclaimed top twenty fan, when was the last time you were there to hear that then ?

  • Greggy164

Sickandtiredstill Greggy164 howaymebonnylads  Could be better

  • DavidDrape

newcastle7 does ashley pay you to come out with such drivel/ why should i  or anyone else have respect for your opinion when you’re answer is simply that you’re club does not need syed. every club needs its fans. just look at rangers that club is going nowhere until the current board (which includes ashleys 2 puppets/soon to be possibly 3) have this fans back on board. one day when ashleys bogs off thousands can proudly say they have done there little bit by standing up to ashley by staying away.
