Today we are asking; ‘What were Mike Ashley’s intentions in January at Newcastle United?’

The dust/tumbleweed has just settled on the January transfer window.

The in-door has seemingly been stuck beyond repair for the last five weeks but the exit route has proved a well trodden path.

So after a quite bizarre month, even by Newcastle United standards, we are asking Newcastle fans what Mike Ashley’s intentions were this past month?

Pick which one of these statements below best fits your thoughts and vote now.

He’s keeping Sissoko till the summer to pay for any new signings.Ashley’s motto “no capital outlay”.

  • SusanCommon

he will use the PL TV money he doesn’t use to somehow wangle its way to helping rangers

  • mrkgw

We really, really do need to force these parasites from our club. It deserves so much better than this.

  • mrkgw

Agree and that is my fear all along. Rangers gain will be our loss and they will suck finances from the club. Time for action and now, not later.

  • DownUnderMag

nufcmag777 assuming of course that we actually buy a replacement at all…

  • DownUnderMag

mrkgw always the worry, Rangers take-over followed by getting them into the Champions League and the lucrative pay-day therein not just for the prize/TV money side but to get the advertising for the Sports Direct Arena.  I only hope that they don’t offset wages on us – i.e. we end up buying players and loaning them to Rangers for nothing all the time.  Will be interesting to see if we find out who is paying the wages for the 5 loanees at present and if there is any sort of fee like normal loans involve…

If it wasn’t obvious to everyone before, surely it must be now, that the executive instruction to Carver to throw the third round cup tie was premised on the fact that, come the end of January, he’d have a woefully threadbare squad to work with.

  • vbhgft

    Nicolaus Copernicus Nonsense.

  • mrkgw

Agreed. Ashley is ruining our club and yet, the FA do nothing. If we were Man Utd however, you can only imagine the noise coming from them. Mike Ashley has been the worst thing possible to happen to our club. Supporting the side is just downright painful. Ashley out!

  • Demented_Man

vbhgft Nicolaus Copernicus Semantic niceties.  You can get across to the players the fact that you’re not really bothered about a match without explicitly saying so.  NUFC are now expert at this technique.

  • Toonbadger

His aim was to pi$$ us off

  • Shaker_Shakrah

    The 5th choice

  • Nicolaus Copernicus

You have no grasp of metaphor or poetic licence, mate, do you. I mean throw in the higher sense of not wanting to win, and you’d be hard pressed to argue that Carver sent out a team Hell bent on taking Leicester to the cleaners and Newcastle into the next round.
(Before you take me task, Mr. Literal, I am not referring to Carver dropping of a football team at the dry cleaners)

  • nufcslf

    mrkgw Hear hear.
