Michael Owen prediction for Newcastle v Aston Villa
The 6-0 win on 22 August 2010 seems an awful long time ago and if Michael Owen is correct, nothing much is going to change today.
Since that revenge-filled mauling when Newcastle returned to the Premier League, it has been a different story.
While Newcastle haven’t done too bad in terms of results against our friends from Birmingham, in terms of goals it has been a shocking affair.
In eight games between the two clubs, United have score nine goals and Villa an even more pathetic six, so anybody expecting a goal feast might be a little disappointed.
In his betting column on BetVictor, Owen has predicted an exciting goal free draw and summed up the match:
“Aston Villa face a real struggle for Premier League survival and Tim Sherwood will have had a long hard week since Victor Moses’ last minute penalty gave Stoke all three points last weekend.
“I can’t see this being anything other than a tight, tense affair with chances and goals at a premium.”
On that August day in 2010, Newcastle’s scorers were Andy Carroll (3), Kevin Nolan (2) and Joey Barton. Quite apt when looking at this article earlier today regarding Captaincy/leadership at NUFC and Fabricio Coloccini.
Match Betting: Cisse to score 1st goal 11/2 – NUFC to score 3 or more goals 17/4 – NUFC to win 2-0 9/1
