Kevin Keegan could be in line for a shock return to Premier League management if the bookmakers are to be believed.

Leicester City have sacked Nigel Pearson with the club rock bottom of the Premier League.

However, reports suggest that at least part of the reason was Pearson’s manhandling of Crystal Palace’s James McArthur during their latest home defeat on Saturday.

Of course, that incident could have come along at a convenient time with regards to potential compensation…

Kevin Keegan hadn’t featured in the betting for the likes of the West Brom or Palace jobs, or indeed the Newcastle one.

So it looks as though somebody has been backing a tip from somewhere.

Keegan is as low as 5/1 with some bookmakers, with the likes of Neil Lennon, Martin O’Neill and Tim Sherwood also featuring at the top of the market.

Could be an interesting one for any new appointment because despite being bottom, Leicester are currently only four points from safety.

***In an interesting twist, late on Sunday night Leicester released an official statement saying that Nigel Pearson WOULD still be in charge for their next match against Arsenal on Tuesday night, despite widespread reporting earlier from the likes of the Guardian and many others that the Foxes boss had been fired. Maybe it will prove just slightly premature…

Keegan needs to be backed in the transfer market.  He isn’t a tactical genius, what he excels at is motivation and team set-up.  I guess for short term in their position they may want to get a boost from his impact, but long term they will need to back him or there is no point.  Could be a good indicator of just how “out of touch” he really is given that was why he was refused input into transfer dealings here.

DownUnderMag Aye eh. After all, we’ve done so well in the last 8 years thanks to to the transfer dealings the set-up now has haven’t we? Far better have Wise, Kinnear  and Youtubes (Xisco, Gonzalez) input than KK’s.

    Like Pardew. !!!

No Brainer Tony Jimenez, a long term mate of Ashley’s, and as Chris Mort was quoted – ‘they sit together at England games’. Blew a 1.25 mil KK deal for Modric, offering 500k instead. Apparently in his judgement the guy wasn’t PL standard.
Dennis Wise – Ashley’s and Jimenez’s mate (Jimenez a Godfather to a Wise brat). Paid a whopping salary for absolutely nowt. Gonzales, Xisco and a few other complete nobody’s you’d be hard pressed to name without Google. Loved Youtube as a scouting tool though.
Wise sued Jimenez for dodgy dealings relating to a golf deal (Les Bordes).
Incidentally, Gus Poyet is a close friend of this gang of thieves as well.
Love the way you keep throwing out past failures without accepting any of Fatty’s.
