John Carver has said that he has already started preparing for next season at Newcastle United.
The Newcastle Head Coach insists everything at the club is about the ‘long-term’, saying his conversations with the club hierarchy have all been about the longer term.
While Carver acknowledges that things can change, he has talked about the possibility of getting a three year contract.
Whether this is just part of a letter to Santa spoken out loud, or whether this is what has been indicated to him unless he manages to somehow get Newcastle relegated….we will find out in the next few months.
“I’m preparing, I’m getting ready for it (the summer preparations for next season).
“I think the whole process in the football club, and this is my opinion, is thinking long-term. “
A three year contract?:
“I could have a contract as head coach for three years and be thinking long-term but this could change.
“I have always thought long-term, long-term, long-term…the conversations I’ve had (with Lee Charnley etc) have always been long-term, long-term.
“We have had a session on pre-season dates, the dates for returning, it is obviously a shorter summer break this year.
“As for venues (for pre-season), we haven’t decided where we are going but we are talking about the different options.”
