John Carver has claimed that he has a game plan for Saturday that doesn’t involve parking the bus.
Newcastle came away with what was in many ways a deserved victory in the League Cup earlier this season but the bus was parked for long periods as City racked up a massive 70% of possession.
Following on from Lee Charnley slagging off the away fans who criticised John Carver at Crystal Palace and insisted that they should be getting behind the Head Coach, Carver himself has bought into the feel good factor by claiming that his players have come back from their FA Cup ‘break’ with ‘incredible enthusiasm’.
“We will go there with confidence and won’t park the bus. We have a game plan.
“We went to Man City in the League Cup and won 2-0 and thoroughly deserved the win.”
Element of surprise;
“We’re playing against a good Man City side but we’re not going to be fearful because we’ve proved we can do it there.
“Man City have still got a (Title) chance and they will be looking for 3 points from this but I would like to surprise them.”
Players now have ‘incredible enthusiasm’;
“It has been a good week. We gave the lads time off to recharge their batteries and they’ve come back with incredible enthusiasm.”
