Hatem Ben Arfa in Big Apple talks
The latest twist in the Hatem Ben Arfa fiasco could see the former Newcastle player heading to the Big Apple (not apple pie…), with the winger reported to be in talks with New York City FC.
The MLS kicks off in March and could offer the Frenchman at least a temporary home for his talents before a potential return to Europe and almost certainly France, for when the season kicks off on this side of the Atlantic.
L’equipe say that Hatem is in talks with New York City FC to join up with the likes of Frank Lampard, who is due to head over to America sometime after the Premier League campaign ends.
The newly created club will play their home games at Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees baseball team.
New York City share the same ownership as both Manchester City and Melbourne City FC, going a bit more global than Mike Ashley’s involvement at Newcastle, Rangers and Oldham.
