Crystal Palace looking forward to a ‘Cup Final’ v Newcastle

Crystal Palace will be treating tonight’s match like a ‘Cup Final’ according to Joe Ledley.

The midfielder though says that is how they are treating every match now in their battle for Premier League survival.

Palace’s home form has been shocking with only three wins (and two draws), one of those coming under Alan Pardew against Tottenham.

However, even though Pardew has helped deliver five wins out of six matches in all competitions , the other four have been away from home, with a 1-0 defeat to Everton in the last match at Selhurst Park.

Joe Ledley;

“It would be massive to get a win but we treat every game like it’s a cup final.

“It doesn’t matter who we play, hopefully we just go out there and perform and get the three points.

“Our home form this season has changed from last year and we haven’t been that good, so let’s try and change that with a win.”

Newcastle United’s away form has been marginally better than Palace’s home results, United winning three and drawing three.

Whether Palace treat every match like a Cup Final or not, we can be sure that Alan Pardew will certainly be telling his players in no uncertain terms what tonight’s game means to him, let’s hope John Carver gets a similar message across to our lot.

With six wins on our last six visits here to play Palace, then surely there can be only one winner…
