John Carver  has declared that ‘Williamson v Bony should be a good competition’ on Saturday at the Etihad…

Funnily enough, John Carver just took the words right out of my mouth…

Since arriving in English/Welsh football, Wilfried Bony has scored 35 goals and started only 56 matches before his move to Manchester City.

While in the black and white corner, Mike Williamson is one of only four available defenders for Newcastle, whose defence is currently the fourth worst in the Premier League, with only promoted trio and relegation candidates QPR, Burnley and Leicester having let in more goals.

Nevertheless, the Newcastle Head Coach says while Sergio Aguero ‘could give’ Mike Williamson a problem, he fancies the Newcastle defender to do alright against the Ivory Coast striker.

They have met twice so far and in two matches I think Wilfried Bony is ‘slightly’ ahead on points, with three goals in three hours of football, let’s just hope Man City’s £25+ doesn’t land the knockout blow on Mike Williamson this Saturday.

John Carver:

“It’s quite funny because when Mike Williamson comes up against him (Wilfried Bony), he likes that type of player.

“It’s the tricky ones who give him a little bit of a problem, so Aguero could give him a problem if he plays.

“But because of the type of player Mike is, and the type of player Bony is, it should be a good competition.”

I think thats true a skillfull player makes him look a mess, he does well against the big bruisers.
If only the managers would just pick him against the right teams then maybe some of the idiots who do nowt but whinge could appreciate him a bit more.

  • Sickandtiredstill

No Brainer Forrest Gump in calipers would make Williams look a mess.

  • supermacsnewname

if that’s who is chosen for NUFC then support the lad, encourage him – for god’s sake give him support don’t knock him – yes we need better defenders, we need better everything – but echo the manager’s words as he runs on – come on son, you can do it, give it everything you’ve got, do your best and get stuck into him and make him yours
if he doesn’t then berate him afterwards not before
    HWTL

  • Shaker_Shakrah

What the hell is he talking about ?
I still remember how Bony made Willhamthon like his little bitc* for Swansea last season

  • supermacsnewname

Sickandtiredstill No Brainer why do you bother with the “andtiredstil”l part of your tag ?

  • Sickandtiredstill

supermacsnewname coz you and the numpty keep posting nowt but pro regime garbage.

  • Corkyjohn

Does Carver have a drug problem?

  • prestondave

Well if Bony has a crap game then they should be evenly matched.

  • nufcmag777

No brain you are A TOSSR Man c will score a minimum of 3 goals against us and Bony & Aguero will score if playing. You are an idiot just the same as your hero Pardew.

  • Corkyjohn

Should that not be anti regime? No Brainer (Llambias) & supermacsnewname (Charnley) you are both deluded

  • alreet

Are u really saying this tosh carver. Are u trying to big up the only other defender we have just because. Leave it out man. Name 3 center backs in the top half of the table who he would play ahead of. I know i would snap ur hand off for shawcross. Winston reid or vertonghen. I dont think any of the teams close to us would take williamson.
Saying ooh its not his fault. Thats just tosh because he is picked to play and he is in a prem team. Otherwise carver get the young uns in

  • Willvenus1

Whatever you’re opinion of Williamson, the brains trust have left us with only 4 defenders so Carver has no choice but to pick him and encourage him. If Bony and Aguero crucify him, it’s only to be expected

  • SGM

nufcmag777 Seem to remember you saying the same when we played Chelsea, Nob’ed

  • No Brainer

Really thats what you’ve got to abuse someone. The problem with conversing with people like you in public is that its there for all to see how forkin thick you are, good job I pay enough taxes to pay for on going treatment for you.
You so said you’ll be hoping that the toon get beat just to say I told you so.
    your nowt but a rat

  • Sickandtiredstill

No Brainer Better than wasting any degree of intelligence on you.
Snidey comments and error riddled eulogies are all you are capable of in defence of your fat hero

  • toonterrier

Not the greatest centre half but unfortunately he’s the best we have as Colo is out of form. Dummett has potential but hasn’t proved his worth yet Taylor injured but when fit is a liability at times. We all know that new blood should have been brought in in January but the large one wont spend money so we’re stuck with what we have. Hope Willo has a stormer but not holding my breathe.. . .

  • Sickandtiredstill

toonterrier Dummet is also crocked for what looks like 8 weeks. Saylor is out for the season. January non spend is proving to be the utter shambles the majority of us called it as.

  • alreet

If we are stuck with the fat controller we deffo need all of pards back team gone in the new season. 3 new centre backs. A big overhaul of the reserves. Young guys coming through who actually make it and not just coz theres no one else i.e. dummett and ameobi. We need more of rolando. Someone who is fearless and wont make lazy and stupid mistakes.
We will get found out in this league if we arent carefull. We have been very lucky in alot of our wins this season bar manc and chelsea home results. We have the 4th worst defence in the league. That tells me that our defenders are pap.
If we play loads more free flow stuff and try to just score as many as possible instead of trying to be all sensible it may actually work.
Lets just go for it. Getting so bloody boring

  • GToon

nufcmag777 our only hope is that they play barca the tuesday after so if we get stuck into them they might not fancy it.

  • GToon

To be fair what do we expect him to say? They will tear our defence apart? Confidence is key in football and fair play to JC for trying to instil some.

  • No Brainer

Sickandtiredstill No Brainer You don’t have any to do so.

  • No Brainer

    Corkyjohn Thanks

In the 1960’s I was a trainee Mining Engineer in Northumberland and worked at most of the 15 pits that were working at the time. In 1967 I did a two week stint at Bradford Colliery in Manchester. On the internet I looked up the location a while back, of this now closed pit. It is where the Etihad stadium now stands. Watch out for two large holes appearing in the pitch.

  • Sickandtiredstill

Philippines Hahaha! Excellent. 5pm Saturday would do.
