All eyes on the Newcastle team v Man City.

John Carver will be hoping for a big upset as he looks to improve on a record of one win in seven since he took charge of the team.

He has made only one change for this tough looking match, Vurnon Anita coming in for the injured Remy Cabella.

United line up;

Krul, Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Haidara, Colback, Anita, Gouffran, Sissoko, Perez, Cisse

While on the bench;

Woodman, Ryan Taylor, Abeid, Obertan, Ameobi, Armstrong, Riviere

  • NUFCANADA

Don’t understand Anita over Abeid. Anita just doesn’t look the part of a strong premier league player. Abeid is built like a tank and is quick and calm on the ball.

  • toon tony

Some “GAME PLAN ” John. …has the FCB told you to lose 10-0.

  • Polarboy

NUFCANADA Fairly prophetic comment as it turned out.

  • Polarboy

It’s got to the point that I want us to get completely battered so that the publicity around Carver will be so bad they won’t be able to give him the job permanently. A little pain now or a lot when we get relegated next season. Anyone who thinks this opinion doesn’t make me a proper supporter can do one.

  • Brownale69

Carver if you love the toon that much RESIGN and tell the truth about wots going on BE a man and have someballs!!!

  • toon tony

Don’t worry lads Ant and Dec are on at 7.00 .

  • Greggy164

Man City are still in 2nd gear. Not 1 of them had to break a sweat in 1st half

  • Greggy164

    Promising start to 2nd half

  • Greggy164

Polarboy  Would Ashley sack him now, during the season or is he there till end of season no matter what?

  • Greggy164

    Leftback is having a mare

  • Greggy164

    oh my

  • Polarboy

Greggy164 Polarboy To the end of the season no matter what I would imagine so no Ashley won’t sack him. Surely not even Carver can fail to get eight points between now and the end of the season and that’s all we need hopefully.

  • toon tony

    For Man. City! !!!

  • Greggy164

toon tony   Sorry guys. I spoke too soon

  • toon tony

And the right back, both centre half’s, midfield, keeper, manager, tea lady, etc etc etc…..

  • Greggy164

Polarboy Greggy164 Do you see a top manager willing to work for Ashley?

  • Greggy164

toon tony   Your owner will be pleased. Would hate to see you going on unbeaten run till the end of season and qualifying for europe

  • Polarboy

Greggy164 Polarboy It depends on what you mean by top manager, if you mean an established one with a proven record in a top league then no. What we could conceivably get is a young ambitious manager with potential who would see Newcastle as a means to establishing himself in the league.

  • Greggy164

Polarboy Greggy164  Kenny McDowall might be availible for next season. A good man. Does as hes told

  • Pulse33

Not even surprised to be honest. I knew we would get thrashed based on our recent performances. What really shocks me is how completely incompetent Carver seems to be. Even Pardew wasnt this bad, does he actually know anything about football? I am writing this some 60 minutes in to the game after foolishly waking up at 3am to watch it. We were 2-0 down when I turned on the Tv and was tempted to walk away then. To be fair I kind of did as I didnt even watch the Tv for 90% of the First half and left for good in the second.

  • Toon Magpie

    Carver out.

  • Toon Magpie

Greggy164 Polarboy no but anyone is better than Carver.

  • Toon Magpie

Greggy164 What a joke we are.

  • Toon Magpie

Greggy164 Entire team is a nightmare.

  • Steve1221

To be fair Abeid hasn’t been much of an improvement

  • Greggy164

Toon Magpie Greggy164 Maybe a bit harsh. I wouldnt say the players have chucked it. They are still trying. Its a very powerful Man City team

  • Polarboy

Steve1221 Tough ask to come into a game like that even when you aren’t getting stuffed.

  • toon tony

We already have a yes man.

  • Alsteads

The most worrying thing is not one of them even tried. From the off when Neville highlighted cisse’s lack of concentration to even try to cut out the ball. Williamson who played the ball as if he was in the warm up still. Colo for running around like a headless chicken and having no awareness he didn’t have a man to mark ( like 12 year olds do when your trying to explain pick a man up!) and …….we’ll the rest??! City were still running around closing down on 66 minutes. We had 89 minutes after Anita’s error. I wouldn’t attribute all the blame to him (although he was crap) there were so many switched off from the start. The worrying thing is listening to Carver and then watching them start the game is confirmation they see this bloke as an absolute chump.
I really would do a few year in championship to be rid of this whole stinking set up.

  • Laughlaugh

And janmaat injured and Colback banned for the next two! Shove my ST up his fat greedy a##!

  • bidz01

FATTY why are you crucifying us all the time? Do you hate the North east that much? Just sell will you FCB

  • Toon Magpie

Alsteads We’d have go a few leagues down to clear up this mess. Cashley survived in Championship and I am sure he would again. Carver as head coach has got to face the music, he is useless. Time to walk Carver you aren’t up to the job.

  • Toon Magpie

    Greggy164 Toon Magpie Bullocks!

  • Toon Magpie

Brownale69 As long as Carver stays he’ll be the scapegoat and rightly so he is protecting his boss. If he walks then the ball is played into Ashley’s court.

  • alreet

Think i summed it up in my last post on williamson. Our first team defence is makeshift at best. Colo is no longer commanding. Williamson is a championship donkey. Dummett is a bit of a young buck still and taylor is either a sicknote or a red card waiting to happen.
We need serious investment there with 70 mil of tv money. Oh…….. wait……thats to show we are in the red and making profit not to make the team better.
Total bollox. Wish i had put a bet on. Who is next to not make mistakes and score 3 or more against us?

  • Greggy164

Toon Magpie Greggy164  You want to try watching Rangers. Celtic beat us 2-0 we were over the moon

  • Greggy164

Alsteads  You honestly think players chucked it? Wee bit harsh. Well beaten but tried to keep going. Maybe one of Citys performances of season

  • The trooper

I disagree, the city of two seasons ago, most of which are still present today would have won 10-0 or more.
We escaped a premier league record today

  • Greggy164

The trooper  You might be right. I did see the game. I missed some of it while I sorted a takeaway (chicken byriani, 2 chapatis). I thought you were well beaten but I dont think your players threw in the towel. The early goal puts you right up against it right from the off. Man City were able to cruise the rest of the match

  • Greggy164

Toon Magpie Greggy164  Bullocks. Is that Sandra?

  • Alsteads

I didn’t say they chucked it. What they didn’t do is apply themselves 100% from the off, they didn’t even do the basics, they didn’t concentrate, they didn’t apply anything they had been doing in training through out the week, they didn’t even take responsibility on the pitch when it was obvious our LB was getting tortured. As for city’s best performance of the season……. Sick of hearing that about opposition teams when they face us……Southampton? Newcastle done their damned best to make city look good. Even Krul tried gifting them one! If this is the response from our head coach and co with 2 weeks (no fa cup) of training/build up to this game then yes if you wanted to you could say they chucked it because somewhere in our brief in training surely would of been “what to do if we concede the early goal” not the actions as I listed in my previous post.
    FCB out

  • Greggy164

alreet  You have stated the players didnt even try. If thats the case then Newcastle would be better to shut its doors. To say the players didnt try is way over the top.

  • alreet

I have stated that the players didnt even try???!! Where have i said this in my post?
They dont close down. Dont see the threats and where from. Dont push on to attack.
I have however said that if other teams had not made mistakes in either giving us the ball or not nailing their chances we would be in the doodoo.
Facts man. I see the real sh*t hitting the fan not rose tinted shades giving the players the benefit eventhough they are on more the i would make in 3 years in a week.
Poor form and a very poor run of events.

  • Greggy164

alreet  My apologies. I got you mixed up with Alsteads. Again sorry.
