Yesterday we asked Newcastle fans; ‘What were Mike Ashley’s intentions in January at Newcastle United?’

According to our feedback, an overwhelming 96% of fans believe now that Mike Ashley had no intention of looking for a credible Head Coach replacement for Alan Pardew.

While 98% think the Newcastle owner refused to allow any new players to be bought.

With four in every five (79%) United supporters think Ashley was also intent on selling as many players as possible.

We asked fans to  choose which one of the statements below best fit their thoughts, many thanks to everybody who voted;

79% – Bring in no credible manager/head coach, buy no players and sell anything that moves

16% – Bring in no credible manager/head coach and not buy players

3% – Bring in a credible manager/head coach but buy no players

1% – Bring in no credible manager/head coach but buy players

1% – Bring in a credible manager/head coach and buy players

I don’t know whether he did or he didn’t. And that’s the point. No one does – other than those involved at the top. To say that that 96% of fans don’t think he tried doesn’t surprise me on this blog where each article vehemently attacks everything about the club and large numbers of supposed “fans” gleefully digest every word. 96% of readers of this blog maybe but a percentage of the club’s fans? I don’t think so.

  • Mark Crossling

That’s cos he didn’t Lee Charmley was given free reign to make the appointment not Ashley

  • vbhgft

96% of readers of “The Mag’s” online content hate literally everything about the club they claim to support sums it up pretty well.

‘supposed fans’ ? Don’t tell me, you set the mark at what constitutes a ‘propa toon army’ fan right ?

  • BillyfromConsett

The reality is that a very large proportion of Newcastle fans can see how the owner acts and how his yes men communicate. There’s very little faith that they’ll do anything for anything more than try to keep the premiership money rolling in.

This is our lot. We need to get used to it.

I’m a fan of our club but not theirs. I’ll go back when Ashley sells up. Maybe that makes me a non-fan as Tonytoon would probably suggest.

Ever since KK’s departure, a constant stream of lies, manipulation, and deceitfulness from the club leaves all but the most gullible of supporters to understand their true intentions – that do not prevail further than a mid-table finish in the EPL. On the few occasions when the Club do decide to speak with honesty, it is to tell us that they have no interest in winning anything. Is there any surprise that the fans are cynical & disillusioned?

  • wor monga

Was that 96% of the 55,000 that attend the
home games on a regular basis…96% of the several million fans abroad who love
    the club…or 96% of the season ticket holders…or was it 96% of Mag’s (20 or 30)
regular bloggers who seem to dislike the NUFC slightly more than the average
fan of that shower down on Wearside.

…why not publish the number who voted then
we’ll know exactly how many fans, the Mag says that the club has actually got, Jackie.

  • Roppa

    wor monga
I would imagine that it’s all the same – it’s 96% no matter how you look at it. Certainly, I don’t know of any diehard NUFC supporter who has any trust or respect for Ashley & his cohorts. They have destroyed the spirit of the club, and extinguished any hope we had of challenging / winning anything. What surprises me is that the figure is as low as 96%!

Proven in a court of law to be deceitful with the Keegan debacle, clearly seen to be a soulless money grubber in his other businesses, and people are still trying to defend the c**t, what a shower of imbeciles.

  • vbhgft

Polarboy I trust in Mike and his team.

  • wor monga

Roppa wor monga    That’s not the impression that I got from the
Toon, team or support at Hull, last weekend…but maybe my imagination doesn’t
stretch to poll results…like yours, and Jackie’s does!!

  • wor monga

BillyfromConsett     Not at all Billy…you’ve got the right to stop
going if you’re not happy with the situation…and if somebody wants to take the
seat that’s up to them…it’s their money…Charnley told us there wasn’t going to
be major signings coming in this Jan, and we also knew that a head coach wasn’t
either (because some who’d been approached were not prepared to walk out on
commitments they’d made to their clubs)…and HBA, Mbwia were gone from the start
of the window…so 79% of the voters were just voting for what Charnley had told
them was going to happen already…the rest live on another planet somewhere.

  • Polarboy

vbhgft Polarboy A complete windup or a cretin, to be fair the line is very thin.

  • Willvenus1

Would you like to explain why you “trust in Mike and his team”? Or are you just being very silly?

  • Polarboy

wor monga Roppa Some people have the apparently impossible ability, in your eyes at least, to separate our support for the team from the people who run things behind the scenes.

  • Roppa

    Polarboy wor monga Roppa
It is nothing to do with having an impossible ability, it is to have the common sense to understand that Ashley is destroying our great club, and we are passively standing by watching him. In fact, 52,000 turn up every week to further encourage him in his endeavours.
In reply to Wor Monga, for the ‘greater good’, I sacrificed going to home
games, but I will go to away games. If no one turned up at the home
games Ashley would not have the superb platform of having 52,000 Geordies to help advertise his one & only
love – SD. He’s taking the pixx out of us all!

  • MilitantGeordie

    Polarboy i love this comment!!!!

  • MilitantGeordie

BillyfromConsett you’re the man Billy. Don’t let the apologists tell you you’re not a true supporter because you are.I wish more fans were like you, get them telt!

  • Jarra MIck

Monga it must of been the fifties since we last had 55,000 in the ground, as usual daft old Cnut talking [email protected] e

vbhgft Polarboy on the payroll and this is the thing with these ashley backers. they don’t write article defending him but only add comments to everything and its always only one viewpoint and when do you ever see these stauch people who back ashleys regime have a different viewpoint and agree with anyone who has a pop at the club. obviously paid by the club and having no profile says it all as well as his name being vbhgif says he has something to hide. we only just got rid of more ashley lovers when livefyre came on board
