Yet another front runner for Newcastle Head Coach rules himself out

6 years ago

The latest to rule themselves out of the running for the Newcastle Head Coach job is Paul Clement, assistant to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Previously working with Ancelotti at both PSG and Chelsea, Clement has enhanced his reputation since arriving at Real Madrid in summer 2013 and helping them to win the Champions League at the first attempt.

Asked on Talksport today about the vacancy at St. James’ Park, Paul Clement had this to say;

“Newcastle United are a fantastic football club and I am very flattered to be linked with them, as well as other great clubs in England.

“However,  I am enjoying my experience in Madrid and I think it is best for me in the near future to stay here  and gain more experience, working with the great players at this great club.

“I would like to come home at some point to try to cut my cloth as a manager.”
