The latest to give his opinion on the Newcastle United manager/head coach situation is Liam Brady.
When asked about the vacancy, the Arsenal legend believes that ‘no proper manager’ would take the job because of the way Mike Ashley is viewed by supporters.
I agree with everything Liam Brady says but I would say that the main reason no credible manager/head coach would take the job, is almost wholly down to the ridiculous nature of the way the club is ran.
Why would any decent candidate take on a job where he has no say on which player comes in and go out, while the United squad is left permanently short of both quantity and quality because Mike Ashley has refused to invest the extra TV money in the playing strength.
Liam Brady talking to BT Sport;
“It is a job that no proper manager would want because he would know that he would be alienating the fanbase straightaway, by aligning himself to the chairman (Mike Ashley).
“I think the best thing that could happen for Newcastle is maybe for Ashley to cash in and go elsewhere.”
The one person to declare they’d definitely take the job is John Carver, though he claims that the linesman’s flag that wrongly cancelled out a Remy Cabella ‘goal’ could have badly damaged his chances.
