Newcastle United are currently in talks to sign Racing Santander’s David Concha according to the Spanish daily sports newspaper AS.
The newspaper say that their information is that United are expected to sign the 18 year old Spanish winger on a five year contract.
Only turning 18 in November, Concha has scored twice in twenty one appearances this season in the Spanish second division. Racing Santander are currently fourth bottom and are two points below Ayoze Perez’ old team Tenerife.
David Concha made his Racing Santander debut just after turning seventeen in 2013, going on to help the club out of the third tier of Spanish football last season.
AS say that the young player’s parents were invited over by Newcastle United just before Christmas to check out the club and the city, also taking in the defeat to Sunderland on their trip.
The Spanish newspaper says that if agreement is reached then it is expected that Concha will be instantly loaned back to Racing Santander, as was the case with Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles with Forest in the summer.
