Newcastle open talks with Arsenal on Moussa Sissoko transfer – French reports

Newcastle United have opened talks with Arsenal regarding a Moussa Sissoko transfer this January, according to reports in France.

L’equipe are saying that their information is that negotiations are already underway between the two clubs and that United have put a £15m price tag on the Newcastle midfielder.

After being comfortably beaten by Southampton yesterday and Arsene Wenger confronted by an angry fan at pitchside, it appears almost certain the Gunners boss will go into the transfer market in January.

With key midfielders injured, a player such as Moussa Sissoko would be invaluable, especially as he could play Champions League football.

Arsenal play Monaco in February in what looks a very winnable tie that could take them into the last eight, no wonder the Arsenal fans are up in arms at this disastrous season…

Speaking of disasters. For Newcastle United fans, if a Moussa Sissoko transfer became reality then it would be a hammer blow as he has easily been United’s most influential player and the only one who drives the team forward.

As usual, January is already looking a month of misery for Newcastle fans and we’re not talking about the post-Christmas blues.
