Mike Williamson has said that the break in Dubai will give a ‘good opportunity to make sure everyone is up to speed’ after the intensity of the festive period.

United trained earlier today and will train twice on Tuesday, before having a day off on Wednesday, then flying back to Tyneside on Thursday.

ryan taylorOn their way back from the Newcastle injuries pile; Mehdi Abeid, Ryan Taylor and Siem De Jong all trained today with the rest of the squad.

Speaking to the club website – Mike Williamson;

“There was a bit of fun and a bit of football – it was good intensity. The weather wasn’t what you’d expect in Dubai, a bit of rain but still quite humid.”

“A normal Tuesday (double training session) – it will be tough but should be enjoyable, the change of scenery will be nice.”

Up to speed;

“It’s a good opportunity to get some more good work inside us.

“Obviously over the Christmas period we’ve had lots of games and lots of minutes, so then it is all about recovery, but now we’ve got a good opportunity to make sure everyone is up to speed.”

    Porciestreet;
    Might be very good for your fitness mikey, but does it all of a sudden make you a quality C/H..?  Hmmm, I doubt it somehow.

  • Munich Mag

    Is there any chance we can leave him there ?

  • Brownale69

    A lex Munich Mag  hey lad, settled down man will ya ! :-)

    How long will it be before all three are injured again? Does anyone think that any of them will get to the end of the season without another injury.

  • Greekgeordie

    The article was about three players on near to be included in the squad, and all I can read misery and doom, thanks lads.

  • Jarra MIck

    Sorry Greek Geordie but the players got pardewed and the fans have got Ashleyed. Can’t help looking on the black side of everything now.

  • A lex

    Jarra MIck Exactly. And if it’s not these three, it’ll be another three. Didn’t someone once tell us we had a ‘squad’ capable of challenging the Champions League placings? Yeah, right.

  • A lex

    Jarra MIck So true. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. And if anyone sees one, it’s the Ashley Express hurtling closer.

  • DownUnderMag

    Greekgeordie seems everytime we get our hopes up or excited about anything we get our hearts ripped out by Ashley…only so many times you leave yourself open for that before you start to shut down.  Football is an emotional game and Ashley is tearing the heart and soul out of this club bit by bit.  The trouble is, the will come a time when blind loyalty wanes, the fans do actually stop going and when that day come Ashley will have killed this club and it will take a long long time to get it back on it’s feet, if ever.  I fear the damage he is doing may be irrepairable.

  • DownUnderMag

    Those three back will be great, just like three new players i’m guessing, but it will be good to see them in and around first team action.  Set pieces, playmaking and scoring hopefully all boosted.

    Jarra MIck Crystal Palace 2 Tottenham 1 Burnely 2 Crystal Palace 3. Seems Palace’s player’s have been “Pardewed”, doesn’t it?

  • jimblag
