Chelsea v Newcastle player ratings – Independently sourced

What were your Chelsea v Newcastle player ratings?

Interesting to get an outside perspective and the industry leader for an independent viewpoint is the whoscored rating system (used by numerous sections of the football industry; including media, bookmakers and clubs themselves).

Over 200 raw statistics are used to calculate the player ratings and are weighted according to influence in the game – taking into account the area of the pitch and its outcome for each important event.

The marks overall of the Chelsea v Newcastle player ratings meant that United players on average rated 6.56, compared to Chelsea’s 7.38.

While Chelsea had eight of the nine top rated players, Newcastle had the person in top spot, with Remy Cabella suddenly finding the poise and confidence to show the form he had in France last year. Dropping his shoulder and going past players with ease.

I think Janmaat played his usual game, solid at the back and helping going forward, though I do think Coloccini was lucky to get the third highest rating considering his part in the crucial opening goal.

Definitely a blip though in their system to see Ayoze Perez getting the lowest rating!
