Newcastle v Chelsea will be one of the games of the weekend according to Jamie Redknapp.

Speaking to Sky, Redknapp believes that a major influence on the game could be Moussa Sissoko potentially taking advantage of the absence of Nemanja Matic who is suspended.

Matic has arguably been Chelsea’s best player and his absence coincides with the return of Newcastle’es best player, Moussa Sissoko, from his own suspension.

Jamie Redknapp;

“This will be one of the games of the weekend and really looking forward to it, the two sides are in really good form.

“Chelsea bounced back from a poor result at Sunderland with a three goal demolition of Tottenham and look like they have their groove back again.”

Missing Matic;

“But they are going to be missing Matic who is an integral part of this team. Sits in front of the back four, protects the back four and mops up so much of what other teams try to do.

“They’re playing a team full of confidence and they have Sissoko back. When I look at Newcastle I think he is one of the key players for them. He has that pace and energy in midfield and that battle without Matic will be vital.”

Newcastle have belief;

“Newcastle have got a good record at St.James’ Park against Chelsea, beating them the last two seasons and they believe they can get something again.

“I’m going for a 2-2 draw.”
