Pardew takes positives from Spurs ‘It was two good teams – not much in them really’
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has taken the positives out of the four goal defeat at White Hart Lane, making the ‘slightly’ surprising claim that there wasn’t much between two good teams.
The frustrating thing is that Tottenham actually weren’t that good and a bit like our league win there earlier this season, the home side looked complacent and regularly gave the ball away in poor situations. Sadly though United weren’t good enough to take advantage.
However, I totally agree with Pardew’s other contention, Moussa Sissoko was a class above anybody else on the pitch but sadly he received little help from those around him.
“It was two good teams – not much in them really’
“Our fans were absolutely brilliant and I said to the players, we have to remember that and take it into account, because they stayed with us through a game that they knew had gone.
“We need to repay that on Sunday.”
Best player on pitch;
“Sissoko was the best player on the pitch again, so that was a bonus.”
