Pardew says Coloccini back in training but in two minds for Chelsea
The good news is that Fabricio Coloccini is now back in training after missing the last few matches.
However, Alan Pardew says he is in two minds as to whether he will be fit for the Chelsea game on Saturday.
“Fabricio Coloccini has been training today but whether he has the fitness levels to play in this game, I don’t know.”
However, already this season the Newcastle boss has taken risks with players such as Rolando Aarons and Papiss Cisse, playing them when they didn’t have full match fitness.
Cisse returned against Hull with two goals as a substitute, whilst Aarons played and scored against Manchester City in the League Cup win. On the other hand, both players have gone on to miss further matches, suffering problems with those same injuries that originally ruled them out.
Chelsea will be a tough match whoever Newcastle have playing and I’d rather we made sure Colo was ok for the matches against the likes of Spurs in the quarter final and Sunderland at St.James’ Park.
