Pardew promises young Newcastle player ‘a much bigger slice of the action’
There weren’t many positives that could be taken from the Spurs match but one of them for Alan Pardew was the display off the bench by Adam Armstrong.
Replacing Emmanuel Riviere, he showed more energy and threat than the Frenchman had shown in an hour.
“Nice to see Arma (Adam Armstrong) show to our fans that he’s not just about workrate, like he did at Manchester City where he had a tough night.
“The moment comes and Armstrong is going to be a real player for us.”
“In the second half of this season, even on Sunday, he might get a much bigger slice of the action.
“He had two or three of our best moments which he created more or less himself.”
The thought of Riviere and/or Gouffran playing in the derby is a worrying thought and despite his lack of years, I don’t think any of can be in any doubt that Adam Armstrong would contribute far more than either of those two, given the chance.
