Pardew ‘Gouffran did well in an unusual role’ (football player)
Alan Pardew likes to come up with innovative reasons (excuses) for defeats/debacles and today was no different, the Newcastle manager claiming his team overall did well, Yoan Gouffran in particular. Despite all the evidence to the contrary.
The United boss had Gouffran playing in a kind of left-back role – supposedly a wing-back, but to me he was just his same old anonymous self. He is truly hopeless, the playing image of his boss’ role.
“I actually thought that we did well in terms of matching them up.
“I thought Gouffran did well in an unusual role.
“If there was going to be a weak link it was probably going to be him, but that didn’t happen. “
Cheick Tiote a big loss;
“Cheick was a big loss as when I have played here, it is the sort of stage he likes.
“I am not dispirited with the performance and I thought we showed tremendous character towards the end.
“Towards the end of the Arsenal game, I thought that our heads went down a bit but our mentality here was good – we did OK.”
Our manager is one big chancer and what he comes out with would be really funny if it wasn’t OUR football club that he is messing with.
